Look at the gen situation and compare to the Daytona (which similarly has required the making of a complex clone movement to get an accurate rep). That base movement sells in its thousands, both to the rep and the gen watch market. It's so good, it has itself been copied!

If I want a Daytona I'm still even now getting 150+% of MSRP out on the secondary market, an AD is laughing at me.
If I want a Speedy the AD will do me a discount, and credit, there and then, and next door there is a secondary market on for way less than 60% of MSRP (and I'll get a £350 gift card) and the watch is (relatively) cheap in the first place.
A new Daytona rep from a TD is not a cheap rep, is the market there for a near £1000 rep of a watch you can pick up gen for <£4k? <£3k on eBay

What is your point? Yes, a franken with entirely gen Rolex parts, except for the movement, from an expensive desirable watch costs more than a less expensive less rare model of gen Omega. That doesn't make a speedmaster any more affordable and it doesn't mean that most rep buyers are spending $10k. No one is arguing speedies are worth as much as Daytona's they are just arguing they still cost enough that most people can't afford them and a rep is justified. Especially the limited editions.

Not that sought after? Doesn’t the fact that it’s the 3 most popular watch in the world mean anything to you? The speed master is the most icon watch in the world. There are different versions that can be replicated that aren’t attainable to most people. A $7k-10k watch is not attainable to most btw. A datejust is also attainable but it’s repped. Why can’t the speedmaster that’s a far superior watch.
