I'm about to order a FF and was torn between black or blue. Any feedback on either? Is there a thread with a side-by-side comparison with Rep and Gen? Thanks for your help!

Black -- the blue is missing a good portion of the guilloche detail on the dial.

Good to know. Any noticeable differences on the black version?

Not on the dial detail -- this, in my opinion, is the best out of the box rep from 2014. It's a great piece. Start working on getting a strap for it once you order. The lugs are 23mm, so it's tough to find a great one. You also need a set of T3 and T4 drivers for the lug bars

between the black and blue version of the BFF, if you are considering the best OTB version from the factory, it would have to be the black version as its quite spot on.

the blue one as mentioned by nalomb has the missing the rose engine turned patterns on the outer-most ring on the dial that should have continued from the innermost dial circle, see pic below and you understand what i meant.

however do bear in mind we are looking at macro zoomed shots of the watch dial, which in most instance is very hard to capture once on the wrist and not easily spotted. there are some minor flaws as well on the dial but this is only apparent when put side by side against eachother, other than that it holds up well as a very well made OTB.

Actually the drivers aren't necessary to remove the strap - I was able to do it with a plain flathead that fit snugly in the hex screw. Turns like any regular screw. Got my strap from JohnG next door:

Very true on the drivers -- I've just stripped so many Chinese screws that I'm abundantly cautious haha. Nice strap!

nice looking strap dude!

imho the rose gold one is pretty much on the same level as the black one in terms of outlook, however the only issue you might consider is the tone of the Rose Gold of the gen vs rep which might differ a bit.

Thanks guys for the pics and info. I just ordered the black from Ryan.

good choice there! do post up some pics when you receive it!

Shooboo, I have the regular black FF and the no radiations. I did have the rose gold prior to no radiations and I strugled with the color. I can't say for sure, but after looking at as many pics of the rose gold gen I think the rep color may be too red. I sold it off immediately.

I have the Rose Gold and I love it. The color may be a bit redder than the genuine, but It's not a problem for me. I live about 350 miles from the nearest Blancpain dealer, have never ever seen one anywhere around here, so not a consideration for me. Now if we were talking Rolex Submariners, that would be a different story!!!
My only complaint is the strap is a little too short. the rep strap is about the same length as the XS OEM strap, so if you have a wrist over 7 1/4 " you might need to explore other strap options.

Received my FF from In-Time today. Very impressed with the quality and how quickly it shipped. Wish I had a better camera. Thanks guys for all of the feedback on this watch. If you are on the fence about getting one, I would say you won't be disappointed.

I have the blue one and the flaw mentioned is only noticeable if you look closely and are sitting next to a gen or know what you're looking for. Otherwise, the matte finish of the case is gorgeous compared to the being shine of the SS of the black version.

Are these still available? I emailed Ken about the RG version and he advised it was out of stock...

Try Ryan at In-Time. I've ordered 2 and they've both been great and arrived in about a week.

I gave out some erroneous information about the strap lengths, The rep strap is almost the same as the gen Regular strap. I bought a gen for my watch, and measured them side by side and they are almost the same. the strap holes don't line up exactly, so one would probably wear the gen in a different hole than the rep. Side by side the straps are pretty similar, however the stitching on the gen is darker and it is angled rather than straight stitched. Looking back on the deal, I'm not sure it's worth almost 300 bucks for the gen strap, but I've got it and it makes the watch look a little better.
