It's all abnout what you like, not being cool :) I can say that now that I am past caring about cool --heck I blast "Dancing Queen" and then will pop in some Pistols--it all depends on the mood.

I was in my 20's around 1980's and hit 30's in the 90's--so the first list was "my music"

the older stuff I listened to up until about the age of 15 as I was influenced the 60's and 70's and the whole Disco Sucks era.

I still like all of those bands--but they dont "speak" to me like the 80's/90's stuff

I like Irish music and truth be told like some big band stuff, Frank Sinatra and other 40's stuff too.

I own a lot of CD's but don't get to listen to many any more :(

I miss the old WLIR where I grew up--great radio station!

I guess I meant that is quite the hip list.

I too have fallen out of music as well, I would say 99% of my listening is done in the car these days and it is hard to tune into a good Wilco album on a 30 minute drive. It doesn't help that I am marrying a girl that couldn't name a Clash song. She listens to popular country, and I think that is the worst music since disco. I have become much more of a "singles" listener, I like channel 47 on XM.

You say you like Irish music.... have you ever heard of the dro vers? I think they are now defunct but I had relatives in that band. I intentionally left that space in there... don't need them googling themselves and finding their cousin on a replica watch board :)

Crap! I forgot "The Clash"!!!!!!! I didnt see them at Bonds Casino in NYC but did catch them with that DJ that did "white lines" at the Pier in NY (pier 84?)

The other Irish groups I kinda like are the "Drop Kick Murphys" and "Black 47" and one Scottich called "Silly Wizard"....Not sure what band you referenced--maybe PM me so it doesnt get "googled" :)

Can't narrow it down to one favorite.....I have about 4000 cd's 3500 lp's and 750 45's. I guess you can say I just love music

That'd fill a few iPods. Feel like filling a hard drive for me?

Pizzanooo:

I saw the re-group of "King Crimson" at the pier too. Brian Eno was with them .

Thsi was at the time they came out with "Frame by frame"

Memories!

I need to be 25 again and making the salary I do now....not that it's impressive--just about 3 x more than I made at 25! Think of the beer, road trips, etc :)

I saw Yes about 3 years ago in L.A. and Dream Theater opened for them. That was some great music...I like the old prog rock bands own Pink Floyd Pulse dvd and Rush to Rio dvd, a ton of Yes dvd's. I also like lesser known people like Terje Rypdal who I listen to a lot and I love Pat Metheny Group I always see them perform when I can. His drummer is Antonio Sanchez and he is amazing...I tuned Lyle Mays piano once when they came here to play...the great thing about what I do is meeting all the great musicians...love many forms of music. Rock-Jazz-Clasical, it's all great... :)

Oh c'mon now is that really a band. There used to be a band in L.A. called Sandy Duncan's Left Eye. Seriously that was their name. (the real Sandy Duncan had a glass eye, kinda mean)
