It's all abnout what you like, not being coolI can say that now that I am past caring about cool --heck I blast "Dancing Queen" and then will pop in some Pistols--it all depends on the mood.
I was in my 20's around 1980's and hit 30's in the 90's--so the first list was "my music"
the older stuff I listened to up until about the age of 15 as I was influenced the 60's and 70's and the whole Disco Sucks era.
I still like all of those bands--but they dont "speak" to me like the 80's/90's stuff
I like Irish music and truth be told like some big band stuff, Frank Sinatra and other 40's stuff too.
I own a lot of CD's but don't get to listen to many any more
I miss the old WLIR where I grew up--great radio station!
I guess I meant that is quite the hip list.
I too have fallen out of music as well, I would say 99% of my listening is done in the car these days and it is hard to tune into a good Wilco album on a 30 minute drive. It doesn't help that I am marrying a girl that couldn't name a Clash song. She listens to popular country, and I think that is the worst music since disco. I have become much more of a "singles" listener, I like channel 47 on XM.
You say you like Irish music.... have you ever heard of the dro vers? I think they are now defunct but I had relatives in that band. I intentionally left that space in there... don't need them googling themselves and finding their cousin on a replica watch board
