Spacing between the A and I on the caseback engraving of Panerai is too big IMO. Also the fish isn't there and the smaller engraving.... I would say rep.

Totally different spacing between OFFICINE and PANERAI on the caseback.
The fish and 100m inscriptions can be seen near the lugs on third pic on the paneristi thread.
I think it's fake, but a clear pic of the dial would really help. Who on earth could spend 2,600+ usd on a sales thread with such pics?

It may be the flash lighting but the two large screws on the crown wheel and ratchet wheel are different color than on the gen.

And all the spacing on the case back is way wrong.

Um, guys... this is gen.

For those looking at the caseback, the H series 183 had more spacing in the font. look here;

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6898946&rid=0

Looks like they added the fish and the 100 meters engravings to the caseback in a later series. On the H series, those engravings are on the case.

Also, look at the movement. The swan neck is properly shaped and the beveling on the crown and ratchet wheels is the correct depth. This beveling is something that the rep factories haven't been able to get right. Also, if you look very closely, you'll see the two almost microscopic holes that are drilled in the swan neck screw, which is by the way the correct length. Lastly, the bridge plate edges are polished to a mirror shine. Not even Marlin could make a pam movement look that good.

I vote gen.

PS: One more tell is that the jewels on the movement aren't pale pink like the reps, they are a rich ruby color.

if this guy is indeed a scum bag then I'm not going to say that the watch pictured is what the buyer will receive. All I'm saying is that the watch pictured is gen.

Well.. Based on the movement brand engraving I would say that watch is rep too... As the text is always closer to the jewel like here:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f31/wtt-panerai-183-black-seal-162064.html
or here:
http://blog.breitlingsource.com/2010/12/23/panerai-pam183-radiomir-black-seal/

Oh and I never seen the regulator being coated black by Panerai... So, any reference on that?

No definition enough, but Swan neck shape is correct because it is modified, the micrometric screw is swapped to gen, Incabloc lyre spring is gen, Incabloc cannot be seen perfectly but most likely gen. Wheels seem also swapped to gen.
IMO a rep movement with a very good modification
