it wasn't me :) I swear to god

Anyway,

I guess the point of me pointing this was (on this board) was for awareness purpose and also just the fact that I could point things out and to see if Pam experts agree :) and I plan to do this in the future, if there is enough interest (members to see if they call out reps within our own community).

It does not help the rep world, so I didn't post this on Risti ^^

The original poster is now invoking the, "I bought it from an old friend a year ago... did I get screwed?"

The black pleather band looks too shiny and new to have been around for a year...

He's saying the only thing he can say at this point...

I'm still a Pam noob, but the recessed CG lever pin and the cannon pin is a giveaway. I also belong to another forum whose members frown upon reps but they are good people and I don't post my reps there. I keep rep pics with rep forums and gen pics on all forums. I am not posting my rep modded PVD Pam or fully modded Vaccum 177H on Paneristi to try to fit in...

it's bad isn't it? i can't believe it took cj to call it out. i guess those guys don't look at the details like we do. they don't need to since they have gens, they all look the same. lol

Funny with Rep forums. We scrutinize and strive to have the perfect rep. I firmly believe that we know more about watch details then a many gen owners. Am I right? A guy who has the money to buy a Rolex will just buy it, while a guy who wants a rep will actually check on the finer details ie. Crown, markings, rehaut, font etc.

You want to know the dead giveaway that it's a fake?

His reply...

Hello,
I bought my Pam nearly a year ago, used but in great condition from an old friend; but I never took it to any watchmaker (service) to be inspected.
Your comments got me thinking very badly, and I COULD NOT SLEEP YESTERDAY thinking of that.
Later today I will stop by one of my friends shop to get my watch serviced and also inspected for authenticity. Can you guys provide what kind of aspects does this watch differs (if any) from the original one ? (like you guys mentioned)...

Thanks fellow paneristis for your information.
I'm glad I have a place where I can trust...

THANKS

1. He asks, "Where did I go wrong?"... which means "How can I improve the lie for next time?"
2. He says he bought it used and never had it checked AND doesn't out the guy who sold it to him.
3. He couldn't sleep yesterday because he knows he got caught and was busy trying to come up with convincing lies.
4. He says "I'm glad I have a place where I can trust..."... which means, "you 'nice' people are keeping me from making a bigger ass of myself later"

Hey CJ, the only person that would know to steal your alias is a replica forum member and it seems they can't use their own identity to tip off the Paneristi ... I guess I am saying, don't hold your breath waiting on them to fess up here.

As well re: the further comments of details; this doesn't help repWorld to teach the scammer and Paneristi what to look for in visual tells. All it does is make them more aware. You can't prevent this, but I don't understand helping with it ...

If you'll notice the fakeCJ poster simply called the watch a fake, that was actually the best way to do it. The response by the guy was an immediate excuse and backsliding. The guy didn't even get defensive or angry? He knew it to be what it was and started making excuses from the start ... there was no need to say WHY it was a fake, the owner confirmed it by his immediate response.

And no-one has mentioned that the Chopard, which is the main subject of the thread is also a replica ...
Its actually the first thing I saw as a rep. I'm not a Chopard expert but I have seen the gen and the AR is distinctive thereby telling me this Chopard is no doubt a rep. However it didn't take me very long to see the 111 for what it was.

I do not have a side-by-side pic really, but it's pretty easy to see the difference.

The lever pin on (most) gens are not rounded and FLAT to the rest of the CG.

Reps are either not Flat (recessed) or rounded at the top... (domed-effect).
