Factory seizures in China

Hope this isn't contravening any cross-posting rules, but...

A TD over on RWG just posted that three factories just got raided today, the latest in a recent spate of closures.

Just read through that. I wonder if this is the beginning of the end, or if we will bounce back from this. One of the factories seized was a major rolex factory. For those who don't have a fine account, here's a rundown from Rochest at WI:

Recently the government was hitting the rep watch market. The situation went bad day by day. Many factories were seized. Today three factories were seized. the factories in market are very nervous.

Many watches can't be available now.

So if you are processing your order with dealers, better to check the status with your supplier in time. if you are going to make a deal now, better to hold it for a few days to check the situation if the dealer have no the watch in stock. Just a advice.

No Shiro, this is different, the dealers are very worried. The factories being taken out are usually immune to this kind of action. This is not your usual face saving crackdown, this is serious.

According to the post over at RWG from watchinternational:

For the rolex watch factory, it is at the second postion if the noobfactory is the first position. most of the rolex watch online are from this factory. they make Ult PO 42, some lady tag with swiss quartz , pam 300m and some others.

Hope this factory can be back soon. But difficult, i thought.

If this is not just a passing move by authorities I would think we could expect prices to rise again? Will be interesting to see how this plays out...

I agree this happens every so often. You know they call the factories, hey factory were gonna do a raid (for show) so put all your junk and stuff you can't sell in plain site cause were gonna seize it and roll a steamroller over them to show the world we wont stand for fake watches, bags, and brake pads. Once the show is over continue as usual. However if TB is telling us this is not the case I would listen up if I were you.
