Factory seizures in China

One more big one to come in a couple of days by all accounts so not quite over yet.
The thing that worries me is it gets a little worse each and every year.

The reason it's in March is that those responsible for keeping things in check have to submit their stats to higher ups in April. Or so I'm told.

For what it's worth, I'm in Kuala Lumpur today and had a good chat about the chinese crack down with a Chinese rep importer that sells high quality reps over here. He says this kind of thing tends to happen every march, to different degrees. He did say why in march, but i didnt get what he was saying, i'm afraid! Incidentally, he says that this tends to benefit rep business outside china (e.g. Malaysia, Thailand, etc) for those holding stock, as the Chinese go a little quiet for obvious reasons. However, in his view this will also pass quickly as it always does. He said much of the noise that the authorities wanted to make has now been made.

Anyway, I thought I'd share this because it's nice to hear some good news too. Whether he's right or wrong, we'll see...

Nothing to do with rep shoes. These were among pics found on a Triad member's lost cell phone recently. There are about 30 of them all up.

As an aside, I read tonight that last year Americans spent 7 point something BILLION on sports shoes, WTF?

I "understand" a little about activites that upset the local athorites, & what can happen if one ends up under that thumb ( picked the info up from books, ofcourse), but I can not, & do not want to imagine what that could be like in China! or for a child in China! Way too much to try to process for my little brain! I hope, & pray they are all OK over there! There truly is nothing new under the sun. Hope for the best, & RUN LIKE HELL! I need a nap.....

trail is right, it is all about pumping up the statistics, it will be over in a week. Same as last year. I don't worry about it at all. The Chinese goverment can say, we closed some fabs and shut some dealer business down.....

Yep, my guy did say something along those lines. I'm going to see him again on Wednesday and will ask for more info then.

Thanks for the info. Hope it will soon be solved and business starts again. Still several pieces on my wishlist, as I discovered this universe recently.

Anyway, I'm sure this kind of business will not last for ever. China is becoming a "normal" actor in international trade and will have to clean this kind of production sooner or later. Two monthes ago, I said to a friend of mine (interested in reps also) that we are probably living a golden age of replicas : they have reached top quality and are easy to get through internet. Genuine brands cannot stand it longer, and they will push harder and harder.

Let's enjoy, as long as it exists !

Thanx frank, I NEEDED that! But I gotta hold the onions! So no sh*t!?! I used to live near (Eaton St.), & hang out in Smith Hill! And yeah, nothing like the NY System hot dog joint up there! I live 20 or so miles away now, but still go there to grab some dogs once in a while. I may have lost my head for a minute about the Raids in China, just sounds Nasty when "The Man" puts his boots on the little people. I hope it passes, & all is well again soon!
