The submariner, being a diver, shouldn't look good on straps and goes against my view of divers not belonging with leather straps but the sub just looks good on straps and that's a good looking strap for it.

What a wonderfully insightful observation, thank you, Sir! I couldn't agree more. A watch ought to embody its intended purpose, whether it be a dress watch on a nice leather strap or a diver on a metal or rubber band. Moreover, finding the perfect leather strap to complement a submariner can indeed be quite challenging. It seems I've been fortunate with my selection this time, thanks to the craftsmanship of zeppelin-craft.
