These do not look like particularly good quality offerings. I have an LF Sub, which I'm happy with. But the bezels on these look poorly finished. Look at the paint drool on the 6 on the black one. The dial print looks flat and weak, the DW looks non gen-like, the GMT hand, lke you said.

The hands and hour markers on the polar are definitely silver, which never happened in gen. I am a big 16570 fan, I give these a pass.

This is BP for comparison. They may not still be available from TD and in the last few years their bracelets were hacked up trying the make SELs look recessed. I had to change the bracelet

Been searching around for Explorer 2 and found these by LF on TS-Station. For the black dial, arrow of GMT hand seems to be off when polar is not. Hands of polar do not seem to have black trim like the gen.

Will be ordering one of them after hearing feedback from fellow members, any thoughts of it?

TS-Station is not a TD on this site so I would not personally recommend them. Use a TD and that way you know what you are getting.

Thanks for the pictures! Hope I can get BP somewhere as I really would like to own a 16570 before having the ability to get the gen...

At the monent I am considering 216570 polar too, from what I have researched, currently Noob factory carries the best of it.

I am aware of that, however that’s the only site that I could find 16570 on. Puretime replied me that they do not have it anymore. Will search again through TD list, thank you!

Any TD should be able to source any rep watch for you. Send your TD a link to the watch you want. That said, I have bought ftom TS without issue as have others I am aware of. They have a great selection of hand made vintage watches. I'm not promoting them or trying to influence you, just stating facts.

If you buy a Noob 216570, I highly recommend the 2836 ICHS version. Also be aware that some recent Noob dials have abnormally grey hour markers. You can search for posts about these issues.

Noted with thanks, will try to contact TD to see if ICHS version is still available. I do prefer ICHS as it is easier to repair or swap if needed instead of CHS. However seems like Noob sometimes will improve other parts of the watch while upgrading the movement to clone or 904L... example is the gmt batman V8 and V9.

Saw the post with a batch of polar with grey markers, it’s heartbreaking to see it.

Came across one on trusty, no maker's name but it looks good to my eyes. Will ask them if it is still available. Hope to hear your comments on this one, thank you.

That looks like the BP I bought from Trusty. I havd heard others say it's no longer available. It looks fine, but if it's BP it's most likely going to have the bracelet hatchet job.

Watch was available at Toro Bravos. Might still is. I had like three to four rounds of QC but none watch was any good. Just the remaining leftovers of BP no one wanted to buy. I am actively looking for a 16570 as well, but I am afraid unless someone in m2m wants to sell there is no chance to a decent quality anymore.

To give a an idea on how the remaining BP Explorers in stock look like, here are some current QC pics I received from my TD (praises to him that he was able to source one that quick):

As you can see, some of the flaws that you would have to live with in any case:
- Markers lume sloppy
- Datewheel misaligned
- Dial misaligned by 1 degree
- Crown not aligned with 12 hour marker

anyhow, I like this watch so much that I most probably will pull the trigger. I can give you more specific info once the watch is with me. Shoot me a message if you have further questions.

best
Jo

From what I see I think the biggest issue in this watch is the case shape and the case back thinckness which are completely off gen. Dial and DW can be changed easily imo.

Dealer pics of them look bad, the Polar has silver hands and dial markers (never in gen on a 16570). The black one is better but the bezels are terrible. Hold out for a BP with a bracelet replacement.

BP might still be available from some TDs but it's long out of production. BP did a horrible hatchet job on the bracelet SELs on the last batch and that's what you would get from TD now.

Is it nice? With a replacement bracelet it's a killer IMO, you have to judge for yourself

At $278 plus a bracelet from somewhere still worth it yes

Factory SEL hatchet job - one stop chop
