Now that our respective football seasons are over I'm hoping all of our EU football fans will embrace this thread, enjoy some banter, enjoy the football and share their views.

A lot of members from different participating countries are here. Friendly rivalry is good but PLEASE keep this civil.

Group B is the 'group of death' for sure. Four very good teams in there. Trk and Co-ax should have some fun here.

As an Englishman, I'm nervous about our group. A lot will rest on the first game against France. We always struggle against Sweden.

I look forward to a nice and entertaining festival of football.

Despite Hodgson coming in for Capello, I like this team better than 2 years ago.

We lose duds like Heskey and Crouch and replace them with dynamic players like Welbeck and Carroll. Rooney is a **** so he could have stayed home for all I care.

I like Ox, Walcott, Gerrard, and Parker in midfield. I know Gerrard hasn't done much all season but he's been England's most consistent performer over the past several years.

Defence is as expected but disappoints with the exclusion of Richards. Johnson and Kelly over him? Really?

Joe Hart will be shufflin'. Enough said

I think Group C is actually the best group and the group of death. Croatia as a team is better than Portugal I think. Spain is better than the Netherlands and Italy is still a step above Germany.

I think England has a good chance to beat France, as they are in a weakened state and at the moment only have 1 superstar in Ribery. You can make cases for their centerback and keeper Hugo Lloris. As well as Benzema for the scintillating form he has shown at Real, but I think there is only 1 who can tilt the balance and be the spark.

I hope the perennial underachievers don't live up to their reputations this time around.

A. Russia
B. Netherlands
C. Spain
D. England

No offense but I disagree with a lot of your points. Everyone thinks Spain will do well but they won't have David Villa nor Carlos Puyol. Villa was basically the reason they went to the finals in the World Cup.

France have a few stars and their quality is just as good as England, if not better. They're younger and have nothing to lose.

Croatia sucks. They're all old or impotent.

Italy is like 15 steps behind Germany. They're team is like 8 steps behind Gomez alone.

Who disagrees?

LOL I thought you said not to get unfriendly?

Just on the basis that you think Spain is not the favorite because of Villa and Pujol means you are out of touch. They are far and away the most talented team. The gap between them and the Germans you so highly regard is greater than the gap between Germany and Croatia; In favor of La Roja. You are mad if you think Villa and not Spain's Midfield is why they went to the finals. And lets not forget who clinched that final, Andres Iniesta.

Italy is better in nearly every postion except for 3 over Germany. Whatever space Ozil, Schweinsteiger and Lahm occupy. Gotze is overrated as is Mueller.

France doesn't have that craque, age is not a factor in the Euro. Older teams seem to do better. England will win their group, it's their time.

Hmm. USA's gonna win.

Lololol

England- I agree with Richards being left out, sucks. Ya know what else sucks, Andy Carroll to the tune of 35million....hopefully he can perform better on international level. I'm City til I die, so let's go Hart n the boys!

I disagree with Italy being better than Germany, lol. They may be younger but Germany is Germany. Strong, solid team.

Spain will come close but they've got some key players missing so we'll see.

And finally my heritage is Portuguese so Equipe de Todos Nos vai ganger tudo. Clearly the underdog in group stage. I'd like to see them take it home.

Is this a football competition? Never heard of it....... ;)

Sadly Scotland didn't qualify (again) so I'll be supporting any team playing against England!

Seriously though, I think Spain will be right in there but I'll take a punt on the Netherlands to win. ;)

Best bet would be the Netherlands for me.

Germany won´t win - too many players from Munich. They are all so frustrated (runner up in cup final, bundsliga and CL :picard:)

Great points. Neuer and friends are certainly frustrated but so is Robben for netherlands. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Netherlands have such a strong team, RVP is off the charts fantastic.

Italy still a step above germany?

Buddy the italian retirement gambling crew? What do you smoke in your magic dragon pot?

They got world Champion by cheating against australia. otherwise they would have been out. Then italian journalists watched 2 days the german argentinian rumble to find something against germany. Let an important player get banned....hopefully they dont get crushed in the First games. Would be a pleasure to destroy the most unpopular team!

By the way i think it would be a favor for them, so they have more time to gamble :)

Great thread!
I've got very low expectations for England, so they will probably do well!

Good idea, set expectations low and your team does well.
I could barely watch City vs QPR and look what happened.

England looks good, we'll see what happens vs Belgium today in the friendly- Hazard gets to go against his soon to be teammates.

I can hardly get wound up over the euro, this time. denmark had some great teams in the late 80's and in the 90's but that is all over......the kiddos here don't even have any local heros on their jersies...sad :(

I don't know who will win the EURO 2012, but I of course support our German team.

In the last years - since 2006 - they were almost very close to win a great tournament.

This june it's time to do it!!
