Hi everyone,

I'd like to change the crown on my Steinhart Nav B-Uhr, but before doing so, can anyone confirm how I release the crown & stem on this movement (it's Swiss). Is it the small screw near the crown - how much should I turn it? .5 or 1.5 etc? Do I need to pull the crown out into the set position before doing so?

Thanks!

Andy

Post a pic, and I will mark the release button for you.

Yes it's a screw on a 6497. Pull the crown out to the time set position and undo the screw ABOUT 1/4 OF A TURN ONLY! The stem will then release.

I learnt that the hard way... :lolcina: Then again, gave me the excuse i needed to completely dismantle the movement, learnt a lot. Oil charts helped too. All is good now.
