Pleas Ignore my Ignorance on this topic and please help me if you can….

I’ve been doing a ton Of research on building a 1675 as it is my favorite model of all time and I’m trying to do the best I can so I am wondering if there is Swiss ETA 2836 or a Clone 1570 movement? Or is the Chinese ETA best… I’m looking for the best movement without going Gen!

All help is greatly appreciated

AFAIK there is no genuine ETA 2836 with GMT complication. Those with GMT function use a chinese mod.
You may want to look at the Hangzhou 6460 GMT which is an asian clone of th 2836 with GMT funktion.

There is no clone of the 1570
I am guessing you mean the 1575 GMT as the 1570 is 3 hands

The 2836 GMT mod is the way to go
I guess you can also try a Nh34 if your case is compatible

The dial will also be important making sure that the date window is aligned (or use an overlay)

I’m late to the dance here but for anyone who may stumble upon this thread, I’d recommend the ETA 2846 for your vintage build.

The Rolex 1570 beats at 19,800 A/h,
The ETA 2836 (and clones) at 28,800, and
The ETA 2846 at 21,600.

You can mod the 2846 to GMT with the same parts used on the 2836 and the critical dimensions (diameter height, and stem height) are the same. The advantage is the 2846’s lower beat rate.
