Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on a good dssd pvd/dlc and where to buy it? What version is the best? Is timeshops the best place, or lay (replicamake?). I've also seen bk name thrown out there. They all sell the pvd one?

just wanted to get people's input of who is in the know and owners of this watch . How does it look, does it look pretty close to gen?

thanks

pino.

PVD'd DSSD's are not so popular and there are not as many version as the regular DSSD. BK is a modder who does DSSD's but not the PVD ones. Accuracy is the last thing I'd be worried about when it comes to the PVD DSSD. With a limited edition of 32 pieces (or something like that) I'd be surprised if anyone will know it let alone call you out

I love Rolex watches but I really dislike the PVC / DLC coating on Rolex. As for the DSSD Rolex one of the things that make this watch so attractive is all the Stainless Steel I think a DLC coated DSSD would look terrible. If you want to get a near perfect Replica I would go with BK.

There's the Pro Hunter DSSD, IIRC. Not bad at all, if you're into that sort of thing. I think perfect clones had them, but pretty sure they all can order them.

Post up a pic, so he can see. I've always thought the Pro Hunter DSSDs and SDs were pretty nice tactical looking watches.
(side note, I thought they were Jean Luc Picard.... Not Lucien Picard... I watch too much Star Trek)

Besides BK which is how much a $1k? , who has a good dssd? I assume if per se timeshops had a good dssd, their pvd one would be the same except pvd'd. just trying to see what members feel about certain dealers and their dssd's....

thanks again.....

So anyone have a good dealer they would recommend based on quality of this PVD watch? Or does the review of the standard DSSD pretty much encompass the same dealers regarding the PVD?

thanks

I think that question was answered already... Robert has them ;)
The pro hunter is a completely different watch than the other dssds that I've seen. Different dial, case back, ect. Maybe an owner can fill you in on the quality.

Who's robert? And how is it different from a regular DSSD? I apologize for the ignorance, I'm new on the rolex forum!

Robert is Time4direct, read around the rolex section you'll find all the info about rolex and DSSD's.

Like I said, pro hunter has a one piece case back, instead of 2, the dial is different, and the bezel looked a little different IIRC.
No problems, we all have to learn somewhere.
Robert doesn't have them listed, you can PM him, or you can just search for prohunters on a few TD sites.

I own this watch and I think it's a great watch; however, its not for everyone as you may be able to tell from some of the posts....You can take your pick from timeshops, lay or andrew @ trusty.... I think Andrew has the new PVD coating for the Ultimate DSSD, all others are using the orig PVD and it wears quickly if you are not careful.... Good luck w your search...
