I just received my DSN 112 a couple of days ago after anxiously waiting for its arrival, and thankfully I received a perfect watch.
So the details:
ETA 6497 w/ swnaneck dagger
AR'd Crystal
Superlumed Dial/hands
Brown Leather, white stitch thick strap (not pictured)
PU diving Strap with deployment buckle
Extra springbars
So mini review, something that I can call my first post.
The watch was paid for last week monday, and was delivered this monday (EMS) to me in Canada, which isn't too much of a wait for my first rep purchase from RWI.
I previously owned a DSN 055, which i bought through craigslist. I then sold it, and had to feed my urge for another PAM, so thats the reason for this purchase.
Either way, the box was wrapped professionally, and all contents inside the box were bagged separately. The rest of the box was then packed with foam to ensure the watch and other contents didn't move around too much during shipping.
What do i think of the watch?
Well, i am definately happy with my purchase. The watch looks great, and has been performing quite well.
This was my first attempt in photographing a watch, don't be too harsh of a critic
From i have researched, the case back and decorated movement look quite good. The case back removes quite smoothly, and all other engravings and ETA stamp are present on the movement. I didn't find fingerprints, smudges, or dust inside the casing, so I am quite pleased.
This is not the strap i received with the watch, but the one i did was thick and of pretty decent quality, especially compared to those flimsy and thin rep straps.
The lume is where this watch may lag behind. It is bright when charged, but only holds for about 5-10 minutes (holds bright, then after that slowly diminishes over an hour or so) but nothing close to what i've seen done by TWP, Vac, or Ziggy. I have already looked into booking with Ziggy for servicing and a relume.
This picture was taken with the ambient light in the room, as I was unable to focus my camera with not light in the room.
The AR on the crystal is great, and its not too heavy, nor non existent like i have seen on some other reps. Its of good quality and it saves time on having to ship out to have it done. This picture doens't show it the best, but its there.
Either way, amidst all the commotion about dealer/collector troubles across the board (RWI/RWC/RWG), especially about peoples Panerai's, this one turned out pretty good. The worst thing is, that when you wear your first PAM, you'll want another one even though they all are similar; it's definately an addiction.
Well here are some other pictures, nothing great but just showing it off to those contemplating a DSN buy.
Thanks Davidsen for answering all of my 30+ questions, great watch!
Thanks RWI, and all other members that are so knowledgeable and help steer you in the right direction.
