I just received my DSN 112 a couple of days ago after anxiously waiting for its arrival, and thankfully I received a perfect watch.

So the details:

ETA 6497 w/ swnaneck dagger
AR'd Crystal
Superlumed Dial/hands
Brown Leather, white stitch thick strap (not pictured)
PU diving Strap with deployment buckle
Extra springbars

So mini review, something that I can call my first post.

The watch was paid for last week monday, and was delivered this monday (EMS) to me in Canada, which isn't too much of a wait for my first rep purchase from RWI.
I previously owned a DSN 055, which i bought through craigslist. I then sold it, and had to feed my urge for another PAM, so thats the reason for this purchase.

Either way, the box was wrapped professionally, and all contents inside the box were bagged separately. The rest of the box was then packed with foam to ensure the watch and other contents didn't move around too much during shipping.

What do i think of the watch?

Well, i am definately happy with my purchase. The watch looks great, and has been performing quite well.

This was my first attempt in photographing a watch, don't be too harsh of a critic :)

From i have researched, the case back and decorated movement look quite good. The case back removes quite smoothly, and all other engravings and ETA stamp are present on the movement. I didn't find fingerprints, smudges, or dust inside the casing, so I am quite pleased.

This is not the strap i received with the watch, but the one i did was thick and of pretty decent quality, especially compared to those flimsy and thin rep straps.

The lume is where this watch may lag behind. It is bright when charged, but only holds for about 5-10 minutes (holds bright, then after that slowly diminishes over an hour or so) but nothing close to what i've seen done by TWP, Vac, or Ziggy. I have already looked into booking with Ziggy for servicing and a relume.

This picture was taken with the ambient light in the room, as I was unable to focus my camera with not light in the room.

The AR on the crystal is great, and its not too heavy, nor non existent like i have seen on some other reps. Its of good quality and it saves time on having to ship out to have it done. This picture doens't show it the best, but its there.

Either way, amidst all the commotion about dealer/collector troubles across the board (RWI/RWC/RWG), especially about peoples Panerai's, this one turned out pretty good. The worst thing is, that when you wear your first PAM, you'll want another one even though they all are similar; it's definately an addiction.

Well here are some other pictures, nothing great but just showing it off to those contemplating a DSN buy.
Thanks Davidsen for answering all of my 30+ questions, great watch!

Nice watch Andy. If this is a first attempt at photographing a watch, bravo! Your pics came out very nice. The lume shot looks great. I think it is so much more stunning when you get such a bright lume in room lighting. Nice job.

You are right about that. I started with a 188 and have since found myself wanting to go simpler.

Re: DSN Ultimate PAM 112

Haha~~ Yes....I started looking at the 111 at the very begining, but have always loved the clean, simple dial of the 112 or the 176.

it simply needs a lever pin flattening !!.......

like that !

IMG_4543.jpg

Exactly, Im trying to figure out how to do it myself, but at the same time i dont want to make it worse. Also ive noticed that the foot at the end of the lever (part you grab to open) needs to be trimmed to have the lever flush with the CG. If anything i will flatten the pin, ones i learn how.

Thanks

Re: DSN Ultimate PAM 112

I am surprised your lume does not last longer. I purchased a DSN 112 this month, and the lume is very strong. It will glow for about 8 hours (not as strong as when fully charged, but well enough to read it all night long in the dark). I absolutely love mine, and am very glad I purchased it!

Re: DSN Ultimate PAM 112

What i meant by it lasting through the hour was that you can see it from across the ways... it does last for well over a few hours, I was just refering to the bright stuff.

It is a great watch, and i went ahead and flattened the CG pin, so it looks amazing now.

Cheers

Looks great! That is one of the sometimes overlooked mods that really gives the crownguard a gen look.

May I ask how you did this CG job, because it looks great!
Did you sand the hole CG even, or did you take out the pin and file it down?
