Great choice for your first.

Now you just need to see if you can find a 192 for sale, to mate with the 172 :)

I found a ti/ss bracelet from another member, that is really the only source these days as they are out of production.

many thanks xaval!

Yep, the ticking noise is normal, especially if you got an Asian 6497 movement.

I'm not sure what you mean by "correct 172 straps"?

Hi hooligan,
i suppose to receive a "Swiss daggar swan neck 6497 E movt" as described by DSN in his thread.
maybe the gen isn't so noisy...(with its price....) but all the reps with the movement like mine are so noise??? is it possible to make some improvements?

for the strap....i mean at least the color... DSN sell with brown or black....
the 172 costs 480$.....

do u know where to find the PAM0299???

No he just sent his usual straps, but one has a ti PreV buckle. DSN straps are better than most rep strap, but don't expect him to send same strap as genuine 172, you should look separately for it.

I received the correct movement, could you post a picture of yours?

Is it not just a 104 with new style bracelet?

Thanks, couldn't have put it together without the help of some great members on this board and a couple of others :)

First step, open up a free account on the "PhotoBucket.com" site, then upload pictures to it. When you have done that, I will give you further directions.

yes but i don't like the new bracelet... i preferred the old one... it is impossible to find it....

Old bracelet not hard to find at all, I have three and a few dealers will sell them separately. Newer bracelets are a bit harder to find, but still available.

Yes chronos work, it has SeaGull ST19 manual wind movement (very reliable copy of gen movement in real 192)

Unfortunately the 192 is no longer sold by dealers, so you have to keep watch on sales sections here and on other forums.

Was the strap light tan? Not a gen that's $260

I don't think he was expecting to receive a gen with it - if that's what you where talking about :)

There are actually a couple of aftermarket PAM strap makers that make straps that they call Tantalum - BOB is one.

To be hones, I forget what the straps where like with my DSN 172. I always just toss them in a bag, after taking off the buckles :)

no guys, about the straps i wasonly saying that it was IMO more complete a 172 with a strap similar in colour to the gen ie butterscotch...while it is simply light brown. that's all. no probl at all.

about photos... i've opened an account on photobucklet and uploaded some pics... now???

if i post the link??
