DSN 172E newly updated

Just noticed that not many members here have remarked on Davidsen's new 172E release.

Well he just released it. I've been keeping it secret for about a month, as he had mentioned it to me when I asked about his past version. Here are the pics from his PhotoBucket, followed by some pics of the Genuine 172.

Note that two spellings are used for Tantalum/Tantalium on both the gen and then correctly on the DSN version. Note sure why Panerai decided to do this though.

Well I just missed out on buying a really nice DSN 229 with T48, so I'm ordering this to make up for it

Tantalium is the model name for the watch, tantalum is the alloy that the case is made of. Hence, the two different spellings.

I agree, cool watch! Tantalum is a bit darker than Ti, though. Some members here have had good success using OxyClean to oxidize the Ti case (which makes it darker), though.

There are only 300 units of GEN 172E. will be Suspicious when wearing it.

No one on the street even recognizes a Panerai. Don't wear this rep to a 'Risti GTG and you'll be fine.

How many gen 6152-1 or Egizianos are out there? That doesn't stop people from buying the reps of them...

i was in contact with davidsen for this watch since september... when i saw the new upgraded model, i decided to order one immediately! IMO it is really nice
Just made the payment... i'm waiting to see the item then i will send some high res photos to have some comments from some Pam experts.

do you know if Davidsen is fast in the shipment?
i read about him and it seem very reliable...

Davidsen is quick and reliable as far as shipping. Quality control remains an issue--and I speak with experience! Nice guy to work with though and always comes through.

Was at a cafe on Sunday and two of them came up to me to ask about my DLC'ed 000... one was wearing a 024H and the other a 088J...

Panerai reps for me are over... unfortunately...

I'm sure that even in SoCal they would have no idea of what this model looks like in person - actually it would probably be better to have one of these than a rep PAM 088 or other popular Panerai model.

Great buy for a first rep. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and love it. Stuck a BOB camel strap onto it and they really look great together. I've got to get some sort of "dual watch" display box for it and my 192 roud:
