Hi:
Had this for years. Bought directly from Davidsen. Stated as Swiss when bought.
Worn it 3 times max & still have the strap it was delivered wit, unused.
Few questions, if anyone can help.
Is it definitely a Swiss movement?
How does it hold up against other & later rep 127s?
I never wear it, should I keep it or just sell it / trade it & let someone who would wear it enjoy doing so?
Thanks in advance...

I think so. I'm not in the UK at the moment so physically check it to say 100%.
Iv'e noticed that it says 'SWISS' near the 'E' in PANERAI.
Going by the first reply though, it is not Swiss, so I'm a little bit annoyed that it was sold to me as Swiss, by Davidsen & I payed extra.
Still no worries either way.
Thanks for the reply anyways...

Swan neck millimetric screw is the correct length. Y Inca bloc. ETA stamp. Gear train IS the correct gold color. Plus if Davidsen said it was Swiss then it’s swiss.
it just has Faux plates glued to the movement. Or they could be engraved back plates... I can’t tell from the picture

I thought the gen movements had a brushed gear train?, and the asian movements had a shiny gold finish? The swan neck isn't the correct shape either, its the same shape as the noob version.

Could be that a OEM incabloc has been used, as this used to be an option on earlier versions from different factories. or could be a slight Swiss hybrid with the odd gem part being used.

Some of Marlins Mod's to the 6497 movements include brushing the gear train to give a gen finish, and reshaping the swan neck (lots of other things too as you will see).

I’m liking this discussion, fascinated me how informed you guys are, maybe it is Swiss after all. If so does that make it a relatively desirable watch, if I was to sell or trade it? Any rough idea of a good trade price would be appreciated, as I have no idea. It’s never going to worn by me, so I’m definitely going to try & trade it for something that will get worn.

Don’t know how my post got repeated, but oh well. Even the post count stayed the same lol...

idk the swan neck looks pretty good to me and seems to be functioning, ie; touching the arm and the mm screw is keeping it in place. I’ve bought from DSN for years, and so have a lot of other members here. Never had a part sent that was not what he said it was.
