I don't want to rain on people's parade but what is good about this one? IMHO, it is vastly inferior to the standard rep. If it has AR it shouldn't. AR did not come around until well into the D's. The cyclops looks way too big. The lume on the dial cannot be as bad as the first pic looks. The GMT hand is way too big - even versus a more contemporary 88. The second hand looks to have the bead too low, etc. You would be better off getting a stock 2836 based rep on this one. I am not ragging on Davidsen as he does have nice stuff. But this isn't one.

I have a 063 that came from Andrew...Notice the lume color. Here is a pic before mods:

I agree with kruzer00...the 063 should not have AR! Here is a picture of the crystal (before any mods)

...and here is a pic after mods! Flav relumed the dial/hands and fixed the cg lever.

All in all, I do think that DSN's 063 is a nice timepiece. However, I am VERY happy with what Flavor Flav
did on my 063. He used his custom lume mix and the result was AWESOME!

Just my 2 cents...

No offense taken, the watch keeps excellent time, looks great on my wrist and leaves me happy. So, it may have issues my enjoyment of it is not hampered or lessened by the details. As for the lume on the dial, it is terrible. It glows fine for a few seconds and is gone. The lume of the dial markers looks fine for those seconds, so you do not see the wavy lines from the macro shot, but the duration of the lume is basically non-existent.

And interestingly, the larger GMT arrow is something I prefer over the gen. My whole reason for the GMT hand is to see it quickly and use it, the smaller one is too easy to have to hunt for it on that busy dial.

I agree with this statement 100%...I never use my GMT hand because of this.....Most of the time I forget it's even on the watch.

Pineypl, you have a fine timepiece....wear it well.....Contact Flav to get your lume taken care of....you won't regret it!

Thanks for the comments.

I should contact Flav on this, I am just afraid of the additional costs. :D This hobby can be so (wallet)draining. ;-)
I will email him about it.

Apologies for being overly negative. Wear it well. :D You are right that the GMT hand is easier to read.

@bigbadbrad: Thanks, was using an old Nikon CoolPix 990 set on macro and manual with focus at .16 feet. The camera was dang near on top of the crystal!

@kruzer00:No apology necessary, you pointed out some great points about this particular model, had I not been such a noob maybe I would have gone a different way, and that info certainly can be helpful to others. I am indeed wearing it and enjoying it, and loving the learning going on. Thank you.
