I often see a blatant lack of respect from new members to other members. It isn't even a matter of how long you've been here or how long you haven't, it is a matter of simple respect for the people in the community.

It is one of the biggest downfalls of internet personas.. Along with them comes an internet ego. You don't have to "own" the mistakes you make on the internet or feel guilty about the way you treat others because the personal connections aren't as apparent behind the text and pixels. Here on the internet, we are all Batmans.. Or maybe Jokers..

To all the members who have taught me a thing or two, I thank you.. I've learned a lot here and will continue to do so. It takes some time before people realize the kind of family we have here. A lot of new people come in thinking this is just some place to buy fake stuff to look "cool" and don't realize that this community is about more than replica watches. This is a hobby and one that takes as much time to learn as anything else.

The fact is.. Most of the disrespectful people here don't last.. They aren't here for the same reasons as most of us. They are here to get "the best sub" to show off and then they are likely to disappear. Unless of course they aren't satisfied with the the REPLICA they paid $200 for because it isn't exactly the same as a gen and they were "called out"... Then we have to hear them complain for a bit longer..

All in all though it isn't that bad.. There are a few bad eggs, but they'll never spoil the fine bunch of stand up eggs we have here at RWI. I say live and let live.. We're doing just fine. The disrespectful PEOPLE (not just noobs) generally weed themselves out. I'll deal with, or ignore those people until they disappear.. No sweat off my brow.

I am a member on nearly every Replica Forum and I was a member on RG far longer than I ever was here and to be honest, I never felt like a part of that community like I do here. This is my home. It's good people.. Even the ornery ones (which are mostly found in the chat box).. :spank:

To all the guys who make this a great place.. I love you. With a totally brotherly/comradery type of love..

To all the disrespectful and ignorant folks who try to penetrate the fortress and home we call RWI.....

Good Day ;)

to be honest, I like to make fun of the holocaust as much as the next bloke but when you're trygin to argument and being pissed on with personal counterargument I don't really wanna call it humor.

My grandfather died in the holocaust you frickin' bastard. Half of my mother's family was in it. Ignorant jackass. I hope you get banned.

Sorry fellas and mods, this is a delicate subject in me.

Z3BR4; that's the attitude.

you make way too much assumptions about what people think. Then you make conclusions based on those assumptions. cant take you serious--

you people need to accept that on the internet, and especially in the younger generation, there is little respect. I don't see the problem with it. Regardless, its not all personal. Its more a way a lot of people talk.

Martin a few hours ago you were about to take the same verbal slapping around that Frap got before he bailed you out by being a bigger idiot than you. Its simple show respect to people who have been here, learned and are willing to help you despite the fact that you are an inconsiderate, disrespectful punk.

And to defend your attitude by saying deal with it because this is how my generation acts... what a friggin joke.

I have a hard time believing that you walk around with that attitude once you leave the comfort of your home.

Martin I'm not some "old man" as you might assume. I'm 25 years old and grew up with the advent of the internet and it's evolution from being a library tool to turning into one of the most culturally/technologically significant advancements known to man.. I've studied technology and how it effects anthropological and sociological theories or situations such as this. The proper term is "Netiquette" and some people simply don't get it.

I'm very aware of the waning "respect" in the youngest generations including my own but I think it's flat out bullshit and it is no excuse, especially if you want to be taken seriously. We (yes me too) are the most self entitled, trophy for fifth place, coddled generation ever.. Is that entirely our fault, no.. But is some of it our fault? Hell yes. There is a reality beyond life under the comfort of Mom and Dad's roof.

I'm not making any assumptions.. I was new just like you at one time.. I've been in the Replica community for 4-5 years (not just RWI) and I have seen many people come and go. I have witnessed the people weed themselves out and seen who stays and who doesn't. This is something you couldn't possibly know without hearing it from someone or being someone who has been there or part of it. There is a reason the age old adage of "Respect Your Elders" exists.. It's because those with experience and time put into anything are the ones we learn everything from. I'm not an "elder" by any means.. And I don't command respect.. But I appreciate being treated with some form of respectful civility.

This is a community and like any COMMUNITY there was an evolution of standards and decorum. If you want to be a part of any community or organization and be taken seriously, you need to adhere to the standards developed through their own interactions. Without standards of decorum a community would fall apart and it is obvious that RWI has strong standards or else it wouldn't be here. We're technically dealing with illegal goods, and this community has to operate on trust and integrity.. It's sort of an oxymoron, but it merits a certain decorum to operate the way it does.

I think what is important for everyone to glean, young and old, newest or eldest.. If you want to be a part of a community and be respected or treated civilly then you must adhere to the standards of that community. That is a fact of any community, it's a fact of society in general and a simple and sometimes hard to grasp (for some) fact of LIFE.

At the moment you're essentially digging your own grave. People won't want to deal with you and dealers won't either if they see the way you're treating fellow members.

You wouldn't jump in a plane and expect to fly it without some guidance.. Whether from others or some form of instruction. You wouldn't even be typing on this forum without some guidance at some point in your life.

It's not even entirely about GIVING respect.. It's about being civil and handling yourself with a certain level of decorum which is respectful in itself.

You have made the assumptions here.. Not I. I'm speaking from experience and I'm doing my best to be respectful. I'd advise you to at least try.. or you're going to have a bad time here.

Guys,

Just give up. You will never be able to educate these idiots. :shlug:

Blacklist mfkers like frap and move one.

We've tried, we tried by making a bit of fun and by being sincere, obviously they are here for the wrong reason.

Farp, :finger: I wish you the best of luck @ College University, I am sure you will grow up to be the same ol' dumbass you are now.

Martin,:finger: you're a dumbass too.
Unfortunately you are not attending College University, not that it would do you any good anyways.

Props to Sub4Me for starting this thread... great examples have been made.

Bailed out? sure. if by bail out you mean realise that not many of you have the intellect to carry out a normal debate or how to keep it factual instead of personal.

Yea we bailed out on trying to help you when we realized that you lack the intellect to spell, let alone carry out a debate.

Keep insulting ppl... go ahead... once the TDs get your email address forwarded and told about your idiot behavior you can get back to wearing your swatch.

jeez, your parents has to be relatives...

sub goes crying and demanding respect, I added my 2 cent to the discussion with the remark that I think that respect is not given it's earned aswell as knowledge isn't asumed you have to prove it.

and then the shit storm of personal remarks begins. And everyone start in a high five orgy.

sad and slightly retarded.

I think the fact that you're insulting people's intellect also proves that you are suffering from the same problem as the accused.

Olive Branch to Martin and Frap....

I can't remember which of the forums it was on but I had just joined and I was publically asking a seller a question regarding a sales thread. Myself and a few other Noobs asked a few questions regarding the case size and other questions which we all could have easily researched ourselves instead of asking the seller. The seller responded with a link to the Gen watch and all of its specs and he commented something like here this is for all of the lazy noobs or something like that. New to the forum and seeing it only as a place to buy watches at the time, I was pissed that this guy who wants to sell something was being so rude. I then commented "Thanks, no need to be a wise ass". I was then greeted with a slight verbal assault from a few members who came to the sellers defense and I said to myself wow this is more than a place to buy a watch. I apologized and I said to myself hey let me fish around here and check out what this place is really about.

Lesson is you can recover from acting like an idiot if you realize you acted like an idiot.

Frap, I apologize for not meeting your intellectual standards (obviously not really) but there is a time and place for a debate. If we were debating facts, events a topic that can actually be debated then you would be able to express your opinion and people should respect it regardless of whether they agree with you or not. But the funniest part of the thread is that you and all of your University educated intellect couldn't realize that you... the person you are... the way you act is the exact idiot sub was speaking of.
