Does anyone else hate chrono watches?

To me most of them are overcomplicated looking and appeal to the techno-geek type of pride. They are not rugged enough for a sportwatch and are usually too big for a dress watch. I try to figure out what I would actually use on for and can't really figure anything out in real life. Just trying to see what time it is without taking a real long look at the watch can be challenging on many.

A great deal of owners don't really know how to set or operate them properly which causes them to appear even more unreliable than they already are. When I wear the couple I have around my large company the engineers are facinated and everyone else is bored to tears. The appear to be as universally appealing as a computer on your wrist.

Well, I wouldn't go as fas as to say i hate chrono, but I believe most watches look beter in the non-chrono version. The only watches I believe look great as chrono are the TAG Carrera, Omega Speedmaster and the most Breitlings. The rest, IMHO, is better plain and simple. I'm no fighter pilot or track team coach, so no need for chronos.

I do think it's not a good thing that the chrono version of of the most watch models is the first (and usually only) one to get repped. That "more dials is more watch" attitude that our Chinese friends seem to have is something I regret.

For example, the MB Timewalker plain is a 9,5 in my opinion, where the chrono model (which I own the rep of) is an 8,5. I would pay just as much for the plain version, but it just doesn't get repped... too bad.
