The whole point is that it's gotten people talking and it's generated a sh!t load of buzz...of course no one's gonna pay a mil for it...but maybe someone will pay $100k, and it'll still be one of the most expensive Panerai's ever sold....it's a no lose situation...i guess one other thing to consider is that the seller is a very reputable panerai dealer, and he knows what he's doing...for what it’s worth.

Point well taken. You are right! He is bound to make a fortune on the watch with his tactics.

If nothing else, this guy is a marketing genius.

I agree...very cool (and rare) snapshot of the 203 in all its glory…I hadn’t realized that the pear wood box was blue, or that it was double the size of a normal SE box…price aside, it’s a very cool piece.

Given that the last auction price was $90,000. an increase to one million is not out of line for auctions of rare collectibles. The value lies in what someone is willing to pay . There are many people out there with vast amounts of currency and given the growing mania that surrounds Panerai watches, I will be surprised if the watch does not sell for close to what the seller is asking. There is something unique about the Panerai brand. We only have to look as far as ourselves at how much we enjoy collecting replicas of this watch brand. The allure of this watch is quite something indeed, and it will keep growing.
