I use the same name for all the forums that I am on. I had been active on the gen forum before became active on the rep. I also do trading on the gen too but always try to keep gen and rep separated. I like the rep forums more because I feel like we are more open minded, more fun, and stuff to talk about here.

REPs ROCK :D

There is a definite, palpable stigma to owning reps in gen forums.

I prefer to keep each side separate.

Mostly so I can sell in gen forums without having to explain my hobby.

I post only gens in the gen forums. No need to mix the two.

I have a friend who is into watches and was one of the 2 people who got me into the watch hobby. In a conversation somehow reps and homages came up and I found out he is very against them. Since then I have never told him my watches are all reps lol. The other friend however was very open minded and when told him about reps an the rep sites he was like a kid in a candy store. Sold him my vac 236k and its been his favorite watch since.

Yeah, I own gens and reps. I spend my time on RWI because there are way too many asshats:asshat: on the gen forums ... They bore me..

To each his own, but I've seen how much into modding seiko guys are. Modding the entry diver into the marinemaster or the fifty fathoms style. The latter of course is more borderline rep modding than homage... And that's acceptable in that one ad ridden forum. And they praise h. rou as well when the parts come from the same sources as ours only sterile dials.

Point is, gen owners need to get off their high horse. It's a passion for horology and a degree of camaraderie that you find here. There's aways examples of people that get taken (ebay) and try to seek help and a somewhat "educated" opinion on these gen forums and get treated with such disdain that it just shows the difference between them and us.

I know several snobs in gen forums.>>>

That take umbrage at folks who own reps...I have already, years ago, told them to kiss my "Italian/Irish" a$$....
They no longer bother me in any manner....:maty::maty:

I have been around a few gen forums, and i have quit them all except one, because of their great g-shock section, other than that what i can say is most of them are just snobs and the majority usually don't know squat, i have learn more here in 1 day than in months there.
So thank you RWI and thank you good folks on RWI

This was the exact impression I've gotten from the gen fora. I'm sure there are people who genuinely love watches, mods watches, etc.. But, there are many snobs who are there to show off their watches.

I use multiple accounts on all sites, it's a much easier way to try and scam noobs selling my fake roast chestnuts.
Of course I cherry picked the names in a way you could never tell it's me, like WellyBoe or KellyToe.
I also use a different style in posts, so nobody can guess it's me.
Ai ken zpeek jerrman vor exampel und rools ken kizz my batt, or frensh iff yu prifer mon amis, italiano saunds veree uell tu: si good è good si t'è ghuit malamente chiù black da midnight nn pò venì, I em stil uorkin on mi espanol mi loco cabron, but all in all the scamming is going good.

Today I pushed 35 Yorkshire chestnuts, under the nickname of BellyFoe. Of course the poor bastards are not going to have gens, ama ship some fakes instead, as long as quality pics passed the test I am good to go ;)

I will also post pics of my fake chestnuts on gen_chestnut.gen just for fun, it's nice having people think that I can afford genuine chestnuts. I want to check whether those fools can call me out. Also, I try and have my replica chestnuts roasted in chestnut ADs, cos I am much smarter than those morons will ever know.
Rules are for tards, I am free and my name is PellyPoe.
