Always thought what would come out if Rolex used exotic materials and open case backs.
on a fence to go with panda Daytona or one of these (wish I could get both, but can't)

Are you talking about reps or gen? I didn't even know what "DiW" was until about 5 minutes ago, (thanks to your post!) and the only reps I've seen in this style have been pretty crap quality.

They used to have a thickness issue due to 7750. But now OMF has managed to use 4130 which means that the thickness is the same as gen. Available on puretime now

I am saving up to buy one lol.

Well there you go, I’ve learned about a rep range that I didn’t even know existed. I follow a lot of wristie threads and have never seen a single person post a pic of any of those OMF DiW Daytonas. Who’s buying them? I’ve seen a few cheap Artisans de Geneve copies, but this was a new brand - and a new rep range - to me!

Noob is the only factory that uses the real SA4130. They have rights to it and have not shared it with anyone else. The OMF uses an A7750 decorated to 4130 and is 14mm thick. This is in the text description of the watch. Gen is about 12.1mm.

Yeah, no. OMF is 7750 just like all the others.

Would the movement be a time bomb or are they quite stable these days, has been around 5 years since I bought my last rep and it's finally died on me AP diver carbon, was thinking to replace it with something long lasting

Have you the movement serviced? What type is it? A2824 can be replaced.

No what's happened is the dial has come loose and can rotate around the watch, but the movement seems to still be working fine.
i reckon it's going to cost similar money to replace the movement at the same time as fixing the dial that I might aswell just buy a new watch? I've never had to send a watch for servicing, but I reckon it'll cost maybe £200 to do and a new watch would be maybe 350£? If it's maybe 150 or less then I would do fix and service

Since is not a chrono is a bit cheaper, for example I got my 4130 service for £150 so set your bar around that.

From the sound of it, the dial feet snapped, so if you know your way around taking a watch movement out, you might just need to stick down the dial to the movement by using dial dots or simply some tape if you are on a budget. You shouldn't need to take off the hands if you can carefully wedge the tape or dot through the gap. I might be wrong but that's what I will do

If the movement is still working why would you call it a time bomb?

Actually I was on the DiW website and they have some really cool designs.

Some of them are not really all that cool and like downright ugly. Lol

Like this one.

But some of them look pretty cool.

Also. Now that I see it and think about it, I wouldn't dlbe surprised if Rolex did something hulk like with a Daytona when it's time for the next anniversary edition. This Pic made me think of that.

Also, DiW does some cool stuff with GMTs too. As well as Constantine Jokers and iPhone cases.

actually the contract from Noob with the movement factory ends this month, I think we might be expecting price drop in the daytona line up

Are you sure about this? I really can’t imagine that Noob will let this happen as the Daytona is their best selling model. It would be an economic disaster for them. Imagine an ARF with the SA4130 clone - this would mean game over for Noob. What desirable model would they have in their lineup if they have to share the clone? With the Subs they lose to ZZF and except the Pepsi inserts their GMTs are als lower quality than ARF and VRF.
