Can I vote twice.
I bought 2 and both are Asian clone.

They both run great.
I am not convinced there will be any difference in reliability.
Guess we will not know the answer to this for a few years.
if movement fails I would like replace with a new Sellita rather than service.
At least a new Sellita from Ofrei and put in by a watchsmith will be cleaner than anything in the reps.

I suspect winding via the crown may feel a little smoother with the Swiss option, but you are paying a good percentage more for something very minor in my opinion which makes it not worth it.

I got Asian and it worked fine. I swapped to Swiss eta but only because I got lucky with movement availability.. Otherwise I'd have left the Asian movement in there. There is no real reason to get the sw200 unless you are getting something with a display case back like an ultimate Nautilus or Aquanaut as the level of finishing is better on the sw.

Just an FYI - I got a Tag Aquaracer 500m with Asian movement from RWI sales here a couple of weeks ago. It was running -30sec a day. I popped it open to regulate it and was able to successfully get it to -5sec a day on the first try. Unfortunately, the regulating screw was made of a very soft metal that got stripped on the first try. I'm lucky that it worked well on the first attempt, but I'm going to have a lot of trouble turning that screw again. That's just one example of the quality differences.

I've only regulated one swiss movement, but it was a Unitas 6497 with blue screws, so it was obviously of higher quality and not really comparable. I've done a couple of my Seikos successfully in the past, and didn't even have a mild hiccup in the process. I might just play with one of my SW200 watches just so I have a direct comparison, but I'm quite sure I won't have a problem with it.

Anyone know....

Is the Swiss movement in these watches a SW200-1 or SW200-2

Selitta

In my reading I understand that due to the length of time eta has been out with movements......patents expired and much of the technology is in the Sellitas

My AP Diver couldn't seep any smoother and its a Sellita

Many of the asians are good but there is a slight hesitation one can notice

I got the asian movement.. But after 1 day it suddenly just stopped.. and no matter what I did it still wouldn't move.. So I decided to send it back to Tony for repairs.. Hopefully it's nothing serious..
