What a shame that helpful threads like this have basically been erased. So many of my search results are of threads with erased photos or videos because of Photobucket. What a shame :(

Great to post something like this! Why are the pictures not working? Probably a PDF File would also be great :)

These stickied guides are incredibly useful, but PhotoBucket makes it hard to see the pics. I had to download them all to see them - and found the easiest way to access the guides quickly was to make a PDF. I did this for my own use, but thought it might be helpful to others here if I shared them. Link below,

I must thank Milkbread for these excellent guides, and credit him as the author of the images. If I'm inadvertently breaking any by-laws by doing this, please let me know and I'll delete.

Disassembly Guide.

Wow...Very detailed step by step thanks for that.

My only concern is removing the balance wheel and removing the pallet fork.

Does is take a special technique to remove them? Like removing the balance wheel in a 90 degree angle ?
Yes

This is a step by step dismantle guide for would be DIY-ers to take apart their 2824-2 movement.
Pardon the lousy iphone photos.

This guide assumes that you know how to do the following before you can get to dismantle the movement:
  • Remove bracelet with a spring bar tool
  • Open case back with a sticky ball or case back tool
  • Remove movement holder with a screw driver and cushion
  • Remove hands and dial with hand levers or presto hand remover

And now, on to the dismantling of the movement.

I was going to suggest pulling the balance bridge first and walking down the barrel but this makes some people rather nervous . All in all great job my friend !
