I have a slightly different perspective. 99.9999% of all frankens I have seen, recently Rolex Addict built a 1680 with a gen 1570, but most all are gen parts with rep parts and an ETA, or like my 1601, 97.34567% GEN with a ETA. It seems to me a big waste of time and effort to use a 3135 for a rep build. If it were me, and its NOT, I would flip that 3135 for gen sub parts and build a rep thats ALL gen from outside with a ETA engine vs. rep parts franken with a 3135 inside. If you are getting it at good of a price, consider flipping it instead.

PM correctime he is looking for a 3135.

I find frankens a dangerous line. It's easy to get sucked in and think you're getting the gen at half the cost but lets just remember it's not. When you see people spending nearly $5k on some of these reps you have to stop and wonder. Yes the gen might be worth $15k but the rep market will pretty much be the only place you can sell it.

Thanks for all the input chaps. I think I'm going to do what a couple of people have suggested and buy a TC sub and get gen insert and possibly crystal. How different is TC crystal to gen?
