DIF Tudor Black Bay 41 Monochrome - Might Take the Crown Over ZF?

Does anyone else have the DIF in hand yet? Someone earlier in the thread stated no ghost date with the ETA clone movement, but my QC video definitely seems to have two crown positions. Still gave a GL though as it's not a deal breaker for me, but curious nonetheless. Mine hasn't shipped yet.

Yes, i can confirm! 1 crown Position (unscrewed) winding, 2 crown Position (nothing happend) 3 Setting minutes and hours… no clicking of ghost Date when passing 12 o‘clock

Nope! Still a stunning watch and rep
Im very happy with it ..

Does anybody know if there are a Rep rubber strap for it! Sind maybe a oyster.
Would not going gen because they are crazy expensive

They may have removed the date stuff but kept the stock setting lever jumper.

I received my DIF today and having both watches side by side i post here my personal review compared to my ZF :



1. Overall look :

Both watches look and fell almost identical at first glance. The bezel on the DIF is stiffer and difficult to move.





The DIF has a newer serial number than the ZF and the bracelet engraving on the ZF is smaller and deeper.









2. The movement :

Both watches use the same movement but the DIF has no ghost date position like the ZF.



The both have different movement fixing points in the case, therefore a movement swap between these two watches is not possible.



3. Bracelet :

Overall the ZF bracelet has a better feeling than the DIF and also sits better on the case.
The lugs are not well aligned and flush with the case .





The brushing on the ZF is much better then on the DIF.



4. Case :

The finish and polish is on both watches identical besides the lug points are better on the ZF, the DIF ones are not even .







5. Crystal :

The crystal on the ZF has a better haptic like there is an coating on the outside, it doesn’t catch fingerprints like the DIF crystal.
The ZF crystal is 1mm higher an is more domed the the DIF.





6. Dial :

For me the most annoying thing on the ZF is the fact that the hands and dial markers have different lume color which is pretty noticeable.





The lume color on the DIF is the same color on hands and dial markers. Also the printing on the dial is more white and not silver grey like on the ZF.



Conclusion :

DIF did a pretty good job on this model for a new factory. For me the only noticeable difference between these two watches is the lume color which bothers me.
I’m gonna stick with the DIF and i’m gonna swap the crystal from the ZF.

The crystal is not that bad, but compared to the ZF crystal there is a difference noticeable.

On the ZF crystal there is some sort of oleophobic coating as the water forms smal drops, on the DIF crystal this is missing

Would it be best to buy both and just pop and swap the movement dial/hands of the DIF to the ZF?

Yes that’s what i did
I took the case, crystal and bracelet from ZF and the movement from DIF.
It‘s possible to change the metal spacer ring surrounding the movement because the dial is not glued on it. The spacer ring must stay with the case when you swap the movement.
