I think I read somewhere to avoid any rep with seconds hand at 6' position. Is this correct?

I'm considering this watch: The seconds hand is at 6' along with day hand.

You should be OK with this one. It's the A7750 movement with sec at 6 (or 12, and probably 3, and maybe even 9) that is the subject of much debate and frustration.
This one uses a 21J movement. It is an interesting complication, though. I'm not sure what they had to do to have the seconds and date run in the same subdial. It may or may not be problematic.

Yeah, very crazy piece.

What happens when the date hits 31? Does it auto. swing back to 1?

You will be fine with that one. I'll get you an answer on the date question in a little bit. I need to do some research.

Date is a fly back. On reaching 31 it "flies back" to 1. In a short month you use the pusher at 10 to reset the date to 1.
