@KJ2020 You're washing the dial, amazing! Would never have thought that this is a possibility.
Yeah it surprised me too first time. I was playing around with some junk dials one day and tried it. As long as the finish is intact (no little cracks or chips) I figured it should hold up same as an auto paint job. So far I haven't damaged any, I've even done a gen dial. I probably wouldn't have but one of mine came with some kind of oily film on about 30% of it that I was just smearing around with normal cleaning methods. I had washed enough rep dials to be confident with it so I went ahead with it. I thought I had a pic of the wash but I remember now I was hurrying it along to get it dried quickly.

Using the same auto paint job logic I've also had some success polishing dial scratches out. This junk Hulk dial I practiced on was scratched to hell in the center and cleaned up nicely. The polish that worked best for me is a British product called Auto Glym. I mixed it with water into a thin paste then rubbed it in. You're supposed to let it dry then wipe it off. Impressive stuff. Keep away from hard pressure on text though, it will eventually take it off.

I was able to make these scratches nearly imperceptible from all angles and light.
