I used to purchased Guitar from USA and make shipment by DHL to Thailand Twice. It provide me a good service. There also have provide "over the air custom clearing". This mean that they don't stop at the custom department in the destination country and inspect the shipping box. They just clear the customer by follow up the invoice or shipment declare value. This method is better. It fast and safe cause they don't open the box.

I shipped 4000 USD guitars from Chicago and declare value only 150 USD. It shipped to my door with no problem on them. Safe a lot of import dutry for me too.

I am located in Thailand. I am not sure what it work in Singapore. But in Thailand, they use that unopen box method and all shipment passed through custom without open box. Anyways, my guitar are relic guitars. They look aged. Mostly I bided them from Ebay. You can let them declare as gift too. I declare iphone from USA as gift and it passed the custom inspection 2 times.

Is singapore a tax free country?

I have been offered DHL but opted for EMS because it was cheaper. I think DHL is ok Hont.

+1 here that can assure that Hont gives top notch service and fast delivery.

About DHL:
Received 4 watches by DHL, to Brazil, didn´t have any problem with customs, and the pack arrived at my door in exactly 1 week;
...DHL is expensive (costs 50% of the price of 1 watch), but was indeed worth the price just for not having any customs problems and for the quickest delivery I could ever want.

DHL is still around? I havent seen them in St. Louis since, well, I cant remember seeing one of their trucks since last year.

I've ordered my first watch from Hont and the service has been excellent.

I'm in the UK and opted for DHL which was expensive. Hont provided me with the tracking number and the watch arrived into Heathrow after about 36 hours which was superb.

Since then, however the tracking number shows clearance at Heathrow at 06.27 on Friday 21 August, and then nothing has changed on the status since then. Is this normal in other peoples opinion (would it usually sit at Heathrow for 5 days+?) I'm sure it will arrive ok, but I thought with DHL it would be about 4 days total and we are past 7 now.

I will post when it arrives.

Yep - whether you go for DHL or EMS, the delay is always at Heathrow. Customs get backed up on a regular basis and it's not uncommon for a package to sit there for a week awaiting clearance. Most I've ever had to wait was 7 working days.

Don't worry - UK customs are generally VERY rep-friendly, so it's highly unlikely you'll have a problem.

This is what the DHL website says, it seems a bit confusing saying clearance processing complete. Is this what others have seen?

For me DHL are great untill it arrives in Queensland.
For example: This week I had a pkg of electronics sent from GZ to my home about 120KM from the BNE airport (port of entry). Less than 28 hours from GZ to BNE via Singapore (customs clearence in four minutes!) and FOUR DAYS for those last few clicks from airport to here. If they had just chucked the damn thing in the post at BNE airport I would have had it the next morning. In future I will advoid using DHL from CN. That's for OZ and outside ofa capital city tho, the delay is the secendary couier contracted to deliver the "last mile" part of the journy. As far as I can tell DHL's performance varies greatly depending on destination country and location therein.
