I know it's fruition is from a mischievous act, but reading this thread has been the most fun I've had on any forum in a while. I feel like I'm witnessing court proceedings...and the defendant is getting slaughtered by the persecution. :)

So Boss?
I don't know much about AMEX and all that CC stuff,,,,,But does it really take this long to clear all this up?
I'm thinking Ryan should have his money by now!!!! And at this point!!!! That's the most important thing....That needs to come out of this thread!,,,,,Has Ryan been paid yet?

And now mail fraud! Wow! ,,,,,I give up hope!
Ordering something by mail and then doing a fraudulent chargeback is mail fraud. There is sufficient evidence to warrant an investigation (or so I am told by someone here in a position to know these things).

No Ryan has not been paid yet, it appears PP are yet to return the funds to AMEX. Denis says that will take 7-10 days so I need to ask around about that. I do hope it the truth . . .
He is however sending the funds from the AP sale to him today, I hope.

If this is a full blown scam and Denis doesn't make it better, I could think you would almost be required to post here what happened but since it appears that you and Denis are working together to get Ryan his money, I think opening this up to the public is just causing more tension that you probably don't have the time to deal with.
You still don't get it do you mate? The only reason there is something happening is that it was posted in public! Denis was not communicating with anyone before this was made public, no answer to emails and messages. This is being worked because it was made public not in spite of it. There was over a week of work by three people behind the scenes trying to make contact before the notice was posted. At that point we had no choice. This is being sorted because Denis knows I am talking softly and that in the background there are a mob of pissed off folk chomping at the bit to wield very big sticks indeed.

Now, I have quite enough of explaining myself. We take care of business our way and that is that.

Ryan BTW is yet to hear from Denis, Denis has not even had the courtesy to mail him and apologise or explain. What does that tell you?

Behind closed doors is the last place this should be dealt with for Denis' own good. Trailboss isn't making idle threats or being hostile with his posts. If you've seen the other side of what happens later, he's being seriously nice and friendly. The boss' warnings really are friendly warnings. If it goes the other way it gets ugly. There are a lot of people out there that aren't even on RWI (and probably don't even like watches) that are well connected and want to help out with some seriously crazy stuff.

This public pressure is good for Denis. Yeah, it's a spectacle. But it's better for Denis right now than the alternatives.

I don't nessecarily agree with everything iPanerai stated, but if you are referring to govt officials, them doing something can easily backfire, it's the equivalent of the govt protecting drug dealers.

Oke we have a result! The funds for the AP will be sent tomorrow and the remaining watches are being returned to the TD by mail same day. I am assured they are still in the plastic and untouched. This had better be the case.

Did we say that? Seriously, let Raji worry about method.

Village, of course
He praises your efforts. He inquired about tact. You say this is a forum and all should be public, yet in the same breath you tell someone to say "NOTHING" and to be quiet. Is that "constructive?" I'm really not trying to start crap here. Just pointing out that this is what should be expected when PUBLIC airing is so embraced, right?

I realize fuses are short right now and it can make it easy for anyone to be short with the most honest of opinions. I am grateful to everyone who takes the concern for all the members and that admirable. Having opinions and varying views is what makes a forum and I know you work hard and I do appreciate it :)

cheers!

We welcome opinions and views on the subject. If not we wouldn't have made the announcement.

But having no clue on the matter and assuming we pull the trigger to shame the member because of just a word of complain and not resorting to every possible means to communicate with the member just isn't true. Maybe some of them join other forums who does that, but it's definitely not happening on RWI.

So, on that subject, I maintain my stand that it's best to keep quiet if they know nothing.

Good, glad to hear it TB. hopefully it goes as planned. Thanks for keeping us updated.

It's an unfortunate situation, but hopefully seeing this will deter future people from trying to pull on over on people, because they will see what happens if you try to f$#% with members or td's here. I think it serves as a good deterrant.

You didn't say anything regarding connections and govt, but there was that mention of charges of mail fraud a little bit back. What he is accused of doing is bad and heart wrecking for all the people who thought he was their friend, but is it really possible to charge someone with mail fraud of replica watches? I'm not a lawyer or an expert on this matter, and that's why I'm asking, I'm genuinely interested in the answer to this, not trying to break anyone's balls.

Under the legal definition of mail fraud, the legality of the mall itself does not seem to be mentioned anywhere, so it's just interesting to me to find out.

I hope TD's don't start freaking out and stop accepting PP. This is my only means of keeping up in this hobby. I've been avoiding all non PP TD's but with what's happening I may have to at least think of secondary payment methods.

Just want to say thanks to the mods and admins for dealing with all our questions, complaints and all around nonsense. I've been on worse forums with mods and admins that were power crazy psychos. You guys seem to show a level of restraint and fairness, despite what everyone thinks.

I think everyone is highly charged on the subject cause we are generally afraid that this will affect everyone's rep hobby on this forum in one way or another. That's understandable but we should all maybe think over what we are saying before we type it out. This helps us to avoid dragging this into 30 different arguments and disagreements.

Why not? Still mail fraud. We've had people charged in the past and I'm sure we will again.

I think this thread is ridiculous. It is filled with awful threats and libel. There is no reason this information should have ever been public. Denis has a right to privacy and his name (and other information) should never have been posted here, especially by the Mods/Admins. It is undoubtedly suspicious that he did not pay Ryan the $2,000 that he is owed but that is not for public debate. This should have stayed between Ryan, Trailboss (and other admin), and Denis. It seems that the person who bought the Tour Auto from Denis received his watch and there was no scam there. If there are other member's involved, they should be communicating privately.

After reading some of the threats that have been posted here (about Denis not being able to come back to the country because of some members on this forum) makes me extremely uneasy about being part of RWI. This is a community where every single member has broken the law and every single one of us could theoretically be charged for buying, and more importantly, selling counterfeit goods. We choose to ignore that because realistically no legal action will be take against us. Furthermore, we all have our personal way of validating why we buy reps.

These threats that were made to Denis seem ridiculous. Especially the one cited above. What is the protocol for dealing with someone who has scammed a dealer? I would assume that the member would be banned from these forums and that member, dealer, and staff would resolve the issue and make sure the dealer gets his money back. It seems as though Denis is more than willing to pay Ryan back. We are all forgetting that Denis owns him $2,000+/-, not $20,000. The comments about him leaving the country and the response by staff here is ludacris.

I think this threads needs to be shut down and deleted as soon as possible and Denis, Ryan, and the RWI staff should communicate privately.

DISCLAIMER: I am not taking sides. I am not saying Denis is right and RWI staff is wrong, nor am I saying the inverse. I am simply saying the way this was administratively handled seems wrong on every level.

My 2 cents on this comment as I see it

If you don't have bad intentions and don't scam anyone your personal info won't be made public
If you are accused of scamming and immediatly set it right/communicate with the admins/mods your personal info won't be made public

About everyone here having broken the law: Not true: in many countries buying reps is allowed, selling them however is a different matter

Also while you feel unsafe here, I feel safe and am happy every resource is being deployed to get someone their money back

Here is what I think at this point!
Simple case of getting over his head!,,,,Denis ordered to many reps! He charged it to his card,,,,thinking he would be able to cover it with other watch sells (like some have already stated),,,He then turns his back on all of his friends,,,closed all of his account,,,Instead of reaching out for help! He does all of this crazy shat! Tells one lie to cover another lie,,,,It's sad really,, He could have token care of this a lot differently!
If he'd just have contacted Ryan in the first place and sent the watches back to begin with!,,,Now he's lost all credibility and trust!
Sounds like he needs to grow up! He had a lot of friends here! And didn't care to even explain? I would have understood !
but I guess,,,his friends wasn't important to him! Wow!,,,,it's really a sad thing,,,,,I guess some people can live with there selfs!

I agree Rudy. Seems pretty obvious as to what really went down.

A perfect example of counting your chickens before they hatch. I shall tell my future children this story in hopes that they will grow into more well rounded individuals... Who buy replica watches honestly and responsibly.

That was my first assumption too. I think it's true, but I don't think it has anything to do with growing up. I'm younger and I would never pull anything like that.
