I'm glad you got it somewhat sorted.

You do not need a new crown, you just need either a new stem or a stem extender. If you go the latter route with the extender, get a high quality one. I made the mistake of cheapening out there and have lost two crowns because the stem snaps due to poor quality and Alum or Vinegar does not dissolve the cheaper quality material as it would with a steel stem. The extender needs to be made of steel (not stainless).

I am not entirely certain if the SH3285 takes gen 3285 spec stems. If you do not get a solid yes or no response to that, a stem extender would work fine with loctite in both ends.

This is something easy, thankfully. I do it all the time.

Ahhh excellent as fixed for now.

i would urge you not to work with an extender (what @mclarendude suggested) as this results into to many struggles & your existing stem is therefore to short anyway.

Ask you TD for a replacement part

Do we know if it takes a 3235 stem or a 3135 stem? I thought that this movement was based off of a VR 3235 which is essentially a 3135 movement that's been marked as 3235? I'm asking because I honestly don't know.

@dogwood gave the concrete response above. It takes a 3235 stem. While based on the 3135, it is not in its entirety.

I don't think a new crown is necessary unless part of the stem broke off in it.

Can't see why a new crown would be necessary either
