I'm glad you got it somewhat sorted.
You do not need a new crown, you just need either a new stem or a stem extender. If you go the latter route with the extender, get a high quality one. I made the mistake of cheapening out there and have lost two crowns because the stem snaps due to poor quality and Alum or Vinegar does not dissolve the cheaper quality material as it would with a steel stem. The extender needs to be made of steel (not stainless).
I am not entirely certain if the SH3285 takes gen 3285 spec stems. If you do not get a solid yes or no response to that, a stem extender would work fine with loctite in both ends.
