Ladys and Gents,

This is my fourth watch I have bought from C-Time and I can’t say anything but good things.

However this go around I received a watch from them (today) and I can’t set the time. The crown keeps coming out as I turn to set it. How do you think I should handle this? Is it an easy fix?

I noticed in The QC videos they had to pull hard on the crown but didn’t think of much it…

I believe it’s a SH3285
You believe ? 🤔 What did you ordered?
However, looking at the hand stack I would think so to. (Or 3185 if not 3285)

Hard to tell in the pics, but maybe the crown is only loose from the stem & could be screwed back together.
(if the stem isn’t broken)

I tried to order JVSF but was persuaded into the GMF. I will admit it’s a really well done rep. I’m looking back at my messages it’s the newest iteration from GMF so it’s a SH3285

sorry who are?
yes it's a GMF v2 with updated crown, stunning watch.

shame, i've had may VS movements fail the same way but it's an easy fix. no way it could have been captured in qc if it worked for timesetting in the qc video.

Tell C-Time what you discovered & ask them what to do.

Thanks, will do. I just called a local watch smith with 5/5 reviews and I told him I needed a new stem ( but maybe more) he asked what kind of watch and I told him it was a “high end Asian clone” he seemed excited to look at it.

I’ve had other watch smith turn me away when I tell them I need a replica worked on. Hopefully it goes well and maybe Ctime can give me a small discount on another order I place in the future

I Agree.hard to believe it failed as soon as I tried to set the time though. I Guess that the way things go sometimes.

I found a watch smith who is willing to look at it. Hopefully it’s inexpensive

The movement in this watch is the SH3285 which has a Rolex 3235 style keyless works, so if you need a new stem your watchsmith should replace it with one of those... unfortunately the 3235 stem is a bit more expensive than the 3135 style stem since the 3235 is a lot newer so there aren't many generic parts. But you can find these parts for around $20 on AliExpress if you don't want to pay for a gen 3235 stem.

From your pictures I can't really see if the stem is broken or if the crown, that is normally screwed onto the stem, just became unscrewed.

In the latter case buying a new stem might not even be necessary.

I tried screwing it back in and it will but as soon as I try to set time clockwise it’s screw back out

Even better. That means the stem is not broken. Just needs to be taken out and loctite'd. Easy fix.

Super easy fix. Get a pin vise to hold the stem once it’s removed and done loctite to secure it. Or get your watchsmith to do that. It’s a super trivial fix.

@dogwood @mclarendude @Plaasbaas @HootschiGootschi @wubsub @Karbon74

I took it to my local watch smith and he put loctite on it. He also went ahead and pulled movement out because he said dial had a lot of debris on it under microscope. He charges a flat rate shop fee of $35 dollars. He said the stem was cut too short and that’s why the movement is so hard to engage (pic below). I sent the info and pic to C Time and asked if he could send me a replacement stem and crown and his reply was I’ll give you a 5% discount on next order.

Thoughts ? Im just gonna buy a new stem and crown but I’m having a hard time choosing the right one for this SH3285 and Explorer II. Any recommendations from AliExpress?
