Installed a gen balance and gen mainspring and barrel to a DD3285. Running great which isn't so surprising considering the 3235 version also takes gen balance. I also have a gen autowind assembly for it.

Installed a gen balance and gen mainspring and barrel to a DD3285. Running great which isn't so surprising considering the 3235 version also takes gen balance. I also have a gen autowind assembly for it.
Should lift angle be 53 or 55 degrees? I’ve seen it listed as both and couldn’t find it in the 3235 tech manual. Obviously it’s not that big a deal in this case since the amplitude is healthy regardless. But I just told someone in another thread that it was 55 (https://forum.replica-watch.info/th...-3285-movement.10935619/page-14#post-11261256) so I might need to get ready to eat some humble pie.
@WatchSmith.US how close to gen functioning and finishing are you finding in the modded movement with those gen parts? Is it crazy thinking with those mods it gets to almost 99% of its gen counterpart? (yeah, gen will always be gen, I know...)

The movement looks very good. Finishing is also very good but not RLX quality. Looks can be deceiving though. Just because it looks really good doesn't always mean it is. I have no reason to believe it won't be a solid and reliable movement, but it is a clone made fast and cheap and assembled in dirty conditions (although this copy is quite clean), and it might last 5 years, 5 months, or 5 minutes. And no, the mods don't make it 99% of its gen counterpart. While it's good, nothing compares to the real deal.
@WatchSmith.US your insights are much appreciated! Curious to see how one one this builds performs in real life.

According to a certified RLX watchmaker, lift angle for 32xx movements is 53°.

I tried to install it too but I found the rocker gen higher than the Dd.

What is the Dd?
This is a direct swap. I’ve also done several with no issues.
Have you properly adjusted endshake of the balance?

Do you have comparative photos of the height of the two rocker arms? Both gen and dd?
What does your top jewel insetting look like on the bottom? Are you sure you bought the correct assembly?
It’s a plug and play with maybe slight adjustments to end-shake needed.

The Adjustment Screw has been calibrated but if I turn it up too much then the balance wheel will be tilted.

Show us your assembly, particularly the bridge and bottom of the insetting.
Also where did you purchase. eBay is notorious for crappy or incorrect parts.

That looks perfectly acceptable.
How about a photo of the balance wheel and hairapring?
There should be no reason the gen won’t install…like I said as long as you have adjusted the endshake correctly. Which may mean adjusting the bottom insetting too.
