Hi all,

Newbie here so excuse me if any of this has been covered, although I do feel like I've exhausted the threads to see if this has already been answered...

I've ordered my first rep - a 116500 from Li at JTime which I'm looking forward to receiving.

I seem to have got the itch for another Daytona but have noticed that Noob do an older version using the A7750 movement which also has a full working chrono, but is slightly thicker in case size (15mm VS v3 Noob 12.5mm - same as genuine).

Does anyone know
a) why the case size is thicker in the A7750? Especially when it's a fully working chrono and seconds at dial 6
b) if you open up the back, does a 7750 look any different to the 4130 movement inside?

I understand the 4130 movement is considered better, just trying to understand why the 7750 case is 3mm thicker and whether it looks any different on the inside?

Many thanks,
Lawrence

because the 7750 movement is thicker than the 4130.

Don’t get a Daytona with one inside.

Oh right, I didn't realise it was simply down to the movement itself actually being thicker.

Thanks for the clarification, will stick to the 4130s

No worries. the 7750 is actually why a lot of choronograph watches are thick/tall - IWC / Breitilng etc - they use a 7750 or a derivative of one.

its why the 4130, and perhaps more so the clone of it is so special.

The Asian 7750 is also an unreliable movement - if you use the chrono on it it will probably break.

Get both the ARF and Noob and send them for a hybrid mod. Sell the donor for profit if you make the hybrid noob based.

How are you going to sell the donor for a profit? It’s the worst of both watches - ARF case/movement and Noob dial.

Or do you mean, “sell the donor to recoup some of the costs”?

You are correct. Well, nearly all M2M sales here on our forum are not for profit, in my opinion.

Thanks all. I've got the Daytona 116500 (noob v3 4130) on order so looking forward to that, along with a CF bezel to replace the Noob one.

Whether or not I decide to get the ARF to use the dial and bracelet...I'll decide at a later date. The costs all start adding up and seeing as I don't have a clue how to mod myself, it would then mean finding and sending off to someone else (more ££)

You will need to shave the dial and mod the bracelet to fit on noob SEL's. ARF SEL doesnt fit noob case well.

You also want to use the Noob clasp.

Why are people telling this guy to get an ARF and start modding the shite of of everything? He was just comparing an old Noob to a new Noob and wanted help understanding went one was a fat bastard and one was svelte like me.

OP, get the new Noob and enjoy it, don't waste a fortune on modding it unless, in time, there's something about it you come to hate and can't live with.

Agreed with the above. Noob V3 looks pretty good already.
In fact, I probably would have just kept the V3 bezel. CF is good but not "that much" better.
