The concept of doing it in a rep is cool but I don't care for the color choices. Blue main hands AND minute subdial? Magenta seconds subdial with a red hand? Horrid color yellow subdial. Light blue minute track might have been OK with better color subdials but it all looks totally uncoordinated to me.

Beat me to it on the platinum. Though seems crazy to rep a platinum when you could just do a stainless steel model. The weight difference would be huge.

Everyone uses DANDONG 4130 base now. There’s no such thing as noob 4130 anymore, there never was. From what I understand, noob just funded the development.

Also, I’d recommend against it. It looks like a toy.

How about the case? It's hard to tell with the stickers on jtime's website, but if you take a look at the side profile of the watch lugs on the opposite side of the pushers, it's an instant tell if it's a noob or clean/btf. The noobs have little to no curvature compared to CF/BTF.

There’s no way it’s a noob case IMO.

The case has nothing to do with the movement.

I don't think the rep colors (particularly the red and yellow) look very close to the gen. And I would never have chosen those colors together for the gen. The use of black borders around the subdial numbers darkens them unnecessarily. This would have looked better without so many colors. I know the theme for JPM is his flag colors but this is not pretty to my eyes.

Personal opinion here, but it looks janky AF, lol. But to each their own. I think the non-platinum version looks half-decent.

The gen would have looked better with just two colors, a light and dark blue like the new platinum Day-date has.

But I like the idea of this rep, even if it's very imaginative, I'm seriously considering spending the requested amount,
so I ask you if have you ever seen the four configurations (not platinum), really for sale, really sonic factory.

I'm referring to the color configurations, for the specimens in particular, with those centralized subdials and other things that seem out of place, I don't think they are real Sonics as they are sold.

As stated, those 4 are not Sonic. Cheap, not 4130, chrono hand is second hand and none of the subdials function, almost none of the details look like the gen, plus about 15mm thick.

I have the Sonic Montoya Platinum and while I agree it seems pretty mad to rep the platinum instead of the steel one, I like it.

Thankfully Sonic has just replied the steel Barrichello which is my grail watch so it’s on order

So you've never seen any other Sonics except the SS and Platinum...I guess the RG doesn't exist.

Your platinum is very beautiful and obviously also in the sights, but I don't understand why it doesn't have a satin bracelet, I know it could easily change, but for how much it costs...

The Sonic Barrichello, despite having too many golden accents, remains the best rep in my opinion (again in terms of the Artisans de Geneve reps)
