Wow!!! that's some great daytonas here. I can't wait to start taking photos of my daytonas for you to see.

Here's a small video of my collection as of now... Modern and vintage daytonas, stock or franken:

Three “out of the ordinary” Daytonas, but not as in-your-face in person as you might expect.

That’s some serious bling!! HA HA...

Jokes aside, they look “one of a kind”, standing out from the crowd. But then, these are also the ones that scream “come steal my watch”.

Amazing collection, Wear them in good health mate!!

flofas thats a bad ass collection mate.

Love the big red. I have a similar build planned.

I read in your bio, you've Frankened your 116519LN, can you tell me what mods you did to it.

cheers

Only the dial is gen for the time being, but I plan on gen crown, crystal, hands, and probably later bracelet, caseback and pushers.

flofas nice.

How much did the gen dial set you back?

Cheers

Not as much as €3000-3500 that you see it being sold on C24 etc. I would not like to mention how much I got it for as it was kind of a private auction. I will say right now however that the same source tells me now that getting a gen 116519LN is "practically impossible", as he has a long list of people that have already asked him about one.

The same source has installed a gen 116519LN in his gen 116500, and he has sourced two more same dials for other rolex enthusiasts around the world that have done the same. He's a watchmaker in Plan Les Ouates the mecca of watchmaking. All four of of those dials came from people that had the 116509 white gold daytona and replaced their dials with diamond-studded ones.

He has now access to an 116509 blue dial (the one with red subdial surroundings). I'm trying to get that as well.

It'll be my third "rare" daytona dial, as I already have a gen rose gold 116515 dial waiting to be installed in a 116515 noob.

No, you have to remove the deco plate and install a different rotor.

Oh, so if we try it the other way round, an ARF caseback would fit a Noob.

I'm asking because I recently received an M2M Noob V3 and the caseback is very thick compared to my V2. Same thickness as ARF caseback. I'm gonna try and switch ARF, V2 and V3 Noob casebacks to reach the desired thickness.

flofas thats a crazy collection. Both the 116509 and 116515 are my grail watches.

I'd really appreciate it if you would share some close ups comparing the gen 116519 dial and noob 116519.

From what ive read the noob 116519 is very close to gen, so a direct comparison would be really helpful.

Cheers

I actually don't have a noob 116519LN. I installed the gen 116519LN into my Noob 116500 V2 that has a bracelet. It will probably be transferred to a V3 watch I bought recently that has better (closer to gen) SEL. I call this franken a "Modern 6263" as it looks like a "Big Red" vintage daytona.

I can do comparison with the ARF dial cause I have an ARF 116519LN V1. The printing is almost identical, the colour of the dial is only different when you put both dials next to each other (the gen one is a tad more brown due to the white gold I believe) and the sunburst effect is much more prominent on the ARF. The gen has very subtle sunburst. The ARF dial is very impressive in how close to the gen it is, and this is just the V1, a V2 is already out on the market.

I'm still waiting on the 116515 Noob (V1/2) watch from DHL so I can compare the gen 116515 and the noob 116515. But I suspect the dial printing will be the same as all other Noobs, which I really dislike.

Oh I also have installed a CF bezel on the 116500/116519LN franken which looks a bit better than Noob's bezel.
