Love this navy blue dial. Would it work in a 116520 build?

Question for anyone and everyone: Have you owned a 116500 or 126500 black dial and been underwhelmed by it on the wrist, tried a 126509 or 126529 (or another reference with solid sub-dials) and been completely in love with it?

I had a discussion with another member a while back about black dial Daytonas vs white dial Daytonas.

In my opinion, the black dial Daytonas ALWAYS photograph better than the white dial.. But in real life they're much more underwhelming/boring (that can be a good or bad thing depending on what you're looking for). If we look at prices (gen) as a reflection of popularity, you'll see that the white commands a premium over the black for this very reason...

I mean look at people like aHero, Submariner23, or Hasselabank, who own like 10 variations of the white dial daytonas lol

I think if you replace a black dial with another black dial, you'll be underwhelmed as well. The baby Le Mans is very nice and sexy but has the same vibe as other black dial Daytonas I believe.

The only black dial daytona I've kept is the 116520, but that's because it's just too classic/sexy to sell, I would say it's the same level as the 116500 in terms of aesthetics.

Thanks for the detailed reply, mate.

Case in point re the 116520 in a post above from aHero. That thing looks absolutely amazing. Sexy as F..K.

My AD only has the 126500 black dial at the moment. I may have to go for a drive to Sydney where there are several ADs/boutiques with more variety and try a few on.

I have both 116520 white and black, I would say they're both great, I actually really love the black 116520 as a daily Daytona, it's "under the radar" if you could ever call a Daytona that lol, I definitely encourage all Daytona owners to have at least one 116520

I don't have many (ie. >10) Daytonas. Regarding black dials I own a 16520 and a LeMans and this has been enough for me so far.
