As for JJ, I assume he buys blank dials (probably from China) & makes his own completed dials... he recently had his team build me a dial & during QC didn't like the blue chromalight on the hour markers & is fixing before shipping.

My watch maker serviced and finally got the Ember Daytona installed. Can't wait for it.

However, I need some help, even with a service there is still a stuttering chrono

The stuttering Chrono is a result of bad tolerances in the Chinese QC of movement parts. Replace the Chrono wheel with gen, should help a lot

I didn't wanna service a full movement as a spare serviced one was lying around. Didn't have a balance.
The un-serviced one was running at +4

Moved the balance over to the serviced one it ran with 49+ and the balance didn't fit. Both noob movements.

I know people say BTF movement > Clean, but my experience is the complete reverse. Every BTF movement I've had has caused me a headache, stuttering chronograph, the hacking on one of mine didn't work, and all of them serviced by my watch maker, he said, all of them were dry as hell.

The Clean 4130, the only issue he could find was some light dirt and metal shavings, but oiled ok and no issue.

Just bad luck I guess.

Right now I have two cleans. One where the bezel construction is so off that the bezel can't be pressure fitted back on, Chrono is fucked and need replacement parts.
Second one the pusher is not oiled, Case wise, and the rotor wasn't correctly connected to the gears so it didn't charge the watch.

Hopefully have my aventurine dial with Arab markers and red chrono hands tomorrow from UPS. Just got tracking info so looking forward to it. Then hopefully later this week I’ll have my btf black bezel black dial Daytona come. Then will send it to a watch smith to get the dial swap along with a service.

Can’t wait to post up pics of the finished watch. Getting rather excited.
