Hi,

I just got davidsen's fiddy. I have wore it a few times and just love it. I dont see any problems with it. I got the E movement and it is superlumed. I have seen alot of discust about some of his watches lately. I have searched about his fiddy but cant find much. Please experts let us have it. I want to know what you guys think of it. I love mine and cannot complain but if i need to know something please fill me in. Thanks

It's really his best work-

Lume is pretty good- not quite gen but excellent on mine.

Saphire crystal looks right, dial print is not perfect but very close.

The hands and case really look and more importantly FEEL very right.

Even the same bogus serial # on the back and the less than gen movement don't really diminish the watch at all.

I wear mine in place of my gens (No I don't own a real Fiddy) and I really prefer it... Mine keeps SCARY accurate time.

Put that baby on a great strap and you really have a watch that will blow people away. Not for the skinny wristed though.

thanks for your reply. The Fiddy has won my heart for sure. I am going to get a second one to have as backup to save in my watch box for the future. Because you never know how long we will be able to get these gems.

Well I know any real dyes in the wool Paneristi can spot the fake here- But the AD can't and neither can anyone else who's ever heard of panerai- But hell it's a super elegant watch- and really FEELS expensive. You can't hold this thing in your hands an not think it's a high end piece.

Some pics of mine-

Awesome pics -- this 'ultimate' fiddy is truly the best. I have one myself and love it! :)

As far as dyed in the wool Paneristi go, there are probably only 37 of them in the entire United States. The rest of them wouldn't know a good rep from a gen. I think you give them much too much credit.

Well yeah you're exactly right-

I wore this watch into Tourneau in Atlanta and into a very big Panerai reseller- didn't bat an eye- They both immediately knew what it was.

The only watch I've ever work where EVERY SINGLE PERSON who noticed the watch asked "Is it a real one?" Was a Rolex President I had for all f 6 months in 1988.

Can anyone comment on how this watch compares in size to the 45mm PO? I'm curious... Also, what wouldbe the flaws on the davidsen fiddy? (assuming we're only talking about on the wrist)

Font is not perfect, but it's hard to make out the exact imperfections. Although the movment is correct there is some improper placing of the letters on the movement. Aside from that this is a great watch. Highly recommended. And make sure you change the strap.

compare a basketball to a baseball  It may not be as extreme as that but the Fiddy is much bigger.

well, 1950 pieces worldwide made...when you see someone wearing a Fiddy...most likely its a rep.
what are the chances ?
I have seen several.....i mean i dont care about the other people, i wear a nice watch for myself.

next to my appartment there is a little storage complex...rented by a chinese guy...he collects Ferraris, but also Porsches, Lambos.....approx 40 new and mint cond. cars in there....even the rarest ones....and lots Formula 1 steering wheels....he owns several from Michael Schumacher - so ...this guy is !! s t u f f e d !!
he wears a .......guess what ??

yeah right ! - no Fiddy-but a Citizen Aqualand, because he dont dive !! - and he could buy one anytime !

Yeah but you're not getting it...

i can't speak for you guys but I don't wear these to fool people into thinking I'm rich- I do pretty well and could drop $10K on a Fiddy tomorrow, in fact my three gen Panerais are worth more than a gen Fiddy.

I like the way the Fiddy looks. NOBODY knows what a real Fiddy is, much less what a friggin Panerai is anyway. If someone asks me I tell them it's a high quality replica of an Italian watch. Period. That's a far more interesting conversation starter than "It's a $10,000 watch that I drove my Mercedes to the Tourneau Store in the Boutique Mall to purchase with my Amex Black Card".

I have purchased five gens off of the Paneristi site in the past 18 months- Four from Lawyers, One from an Endontist. (Oral Surgeon) I sold two of them on ebay for a healthy profit- both went to Law Firms.

My wife and kids constantly pick up my reps and ask-"Is this the real one?"- They KNOW I have gens and reps and holding the watch in their hands 3" from their eyes they can't tell.

Bottom Line- If you're trying to fool people you might as well buy the cheapest peice of shit you can find, because they're never gong to believe you anyway.

For years I had people telling me that the cheap Canal street Quartz watches were just the tip of the iceberg- There were "Grade 1" Swiss Made watches out there. Since I despise Rolex I never bothered to look- and pickued up a few nice gen Tags and Breitlings.

Now when I wear my rep Planet Ocean and tell my friends that it's a $200 rep they really think I'm full of it- that I'm downplaying my wealth...

So I love the look of the Pams- all of them really- I'm happy with my handful of gens, I bougt them right and could sell the three of them and pocket around $4K in profits. But my daily beaters are a Planet Ocean, a Pam 104 wit the too small cyclops and an Asian 7750 (Deadly accurate) and the Fiddy.

..and what point exactly are you trying to prove to horologie_unitas here? That you're rich?

  j/k man..

To Horologie_Unitas:

Life is too short to enjoy every PAM. So what if people say "hey that's a rep"

Ask them what makes them think so... betcha they don't know and start pointing at yer sneakers

But, Fiddy-schmiddy, the gen is overpriced anyways, why the hell right? 10,000 more to get a dagger regulator is no good I tell ya ;)

No now YOU'RE not getting it-

It's the point that these are limited in number- so people will assume it's a fake.

Who cares?? I know lots and lots of the guys here could easily buy any of the gens that are popular here.

heck a Submariner is what- $4,000- Way too much for what it is but not fantasy money.

The art is in getting the right watch that is 99.9% of the gen, for $200 and enjoying it.

hey,i wipe my ass with $100 bills-while on the same wrist hand-my gen rollie GMT

I agree with Aquaracer-when people ask me about the rep watches i've recently purchased-I tell them its a rep-they dont believe and a great conversation starts from there!
