Yeah but you're not getting it...
i can't speak for you guys but I don't wear these to fool people into thinking I'm rich- I do pretty well and could drop $10K on a Fiddy tomorrow, in fact my three gen Panerais are worth more than a gen Fiddy.
I like the way the Fiddy looks. NOBODY knows what a real Fiddy is, much less what a friggin Panerai is anyway. If someone asks me I tell them it's a high quality replica of an Italian watch. Period. That's a far more interesting conversation starter than "It's a $10,000 watch that I drove my Mercedes to the Tourneau Store in the Boutique Mall to purchase with my Amex Black Card".
I have purchased five gens off of the Paneristi site in the past 18 months- Four from Lawyers, One from an Endontist. (Oral Surgeon) I sold two of them on ebay for a healthy profit- both went to Law Firms.
My wife and kids constantly pick up my reps and ask-"Is this the real one?"- They KNOW I have gens and reps and holding the watch in their hands 3" from their eyes they can't tell.
Bottom Line- If you're trying to fool people you might as well buy the cheapest peice of shit you can find, because they're never gong to believe you anyway.
For years I had people telling me that the cheap Canal street Quartz watches were just the tip of the iceberg- There were "Grade 1" Swiss Made watches out there. Since I despise Rolex I never bothered to look- and pickued up a few nice gen Tags and Breitlings.
Now when I wear my rep Planet Ocean and tell my friends that it's a $200 rep they really think I'm full of it- that I'm downplaying my wealth...
So I love the look of the Pams- all of them really- I'm happy with my handful of gens, I bougt them right and could sell the three of them and pocket around $4K in profits. But my daily beaters are a Planet Ocean, a Pam 104 wit the too small cyclops and an Asian 7750 (Deadly accurate) and the Fiddy.
