datejust 36 mm 116234 dial colours

Hi,

i already know what watch watch I am buying next ARF 116234 to replace my old BP. (https://puretime.io/datejust-36-ss-...ck-markers-on-jubilee-bracelet-sh3135-v2.html)

I just want to know your thoughts on dial colours. I prefer the grey rhodium but have concerns it’s not the correct colour? I was settling for the black as it’s likely to be correct...Here are the choices

The watches you have linked in your photos are a mix of 116234 and 126334

36mm DJ and DJ41

No grey Rhodium in the 116234

I had the ARF V1 36mm Blue Dial the Dial was slightly too light and print wasn’t white enough but still a very well finished watch. I had GEN roulette DW installed. The new V2 Blue Dial is ment to be a lot better in likeness to Gen colour. I’ve not seen one on the flesh yet. I’d go black to be most accurate but if you want colour then blue or silver I are pretty close now.

heh my fault for searching datejust36 on Instagram for the photos ! Sucks there’s no grey rhodium but thanks for the input. That’s another push towards black dial

Anyone know if the factories do chocolate brown dial? What’s the deal with red date wheels on black face version is that incorrect ?

There is no rep roulette date wheel for sure.

R factory original roulette datewheel datejusts only come with black and blue dials afaik.

In my view the black arf dj is the closest dial colour out there out of the box.

R factory original roulette datewheel datejusts only come with black and blue dials afaik.

Plus white, which also has the roulette DW option. Silver does not.

I’ll probably start a thread on this project... for now, see my ARF DJ V1 vs V2 Dial I got on M2M. Upgrading the dial, roulette DW, and gen crystal.

V2 Dial is considerably darker / nicer. I’ll take more pics once I have the two dials side by side.

I’m going to do a lot of pre-reading / YouTube on the crystal swap. I’m nervous about popping the bezel w/o scratching the case. Everything I see so far is using a razor blade to jimmy it off.

Print is way brighter on Gen. Bright white! Colour isn’t far off, at least in that light. How much did the Gen Dial set you back? Was quoted $400 last time I asked about Gen blue one.

The reps never get the shape of the 0 on oyster text correct and coronet is too wide on the ARF.

I paid around 200USD for it. But to be honest, it's not worth upgrading for me. Get a V2 ARF, change the datewheel and do a movement service and call it a day. At the end of the day, the watch is beautiful as-is and it's very hard to compare 3-5% dial tone variances under different lights unless they are side by side.
