Date change on VSF Omega Aqua Terra

Hi all

Hoping someone can advise...

I recently purchased the AT and i love it. Only issue is the date change happens gradually between roughly 11:10 and 12:00.
Not sure if this is a issue or intensional, but wondering if it can be fixed?
If this is a feature of the movement then is there an alternative movement that i could replace it with that would give the instant date change on midnight?

I believe the movement in the watch is a Asia 2836-2.

Any help would be much appreciated.

That’s normal behavior on this movement.

Thank you. That makes me feel a bit better knowing its not a fault in mine.

Is there a different movement that I could look to procure that a watchmaker could swap in that would solve this?

I would not be too fussed about the date switch from 11:10 pm to midnight unless I worked with the afternoon shift from 4 pm to midnight and was looking at the watch to see when the work day ends.

None, you would have to source a whole new handset, modify the dial, new movement holder, etc… it’s too costly I would say.

Your best bet is either to source the same model with an asian ETA clone.

The gen 8500 does the same date change procedure. See this video.

looks like most of the other Aqua Terras have a 'super clone' movement, presume thats what to go for next time...

Well, some pictures might work. You might have a VSF 8500 clone which is the best out there.
