Date change on ST2130

Hi

Got a 2130 for a Franken build. The date ticks over nicely on the second setting and in the hacked position. But when I leave the movement running, the date doesn’t seem to change? I’ve left it running for a couple of days and no date change.

Any ideas? Anything glaring?

Does it do this with the movement out of the case, dial removed as in the pic, or is it only when the dial is mounted ?

The hour wheel doesn't look like it's meshing with the smaller wheel immediately to it's left. Push it down in place gently with a set of tweezers. I say gently because judging by the state of that movement you're using a hammer, chisel and pliers as tools.

ha ha yeah it’s been removed from an older piece so perhaps it’s done a few miles in the process!

Yeah it happens as it is now, not mounted with dial etc. Should the hour wheel click into place or should it be easily removable, on this it can be lifted with tweezers without any resistance?

There won't be any resistance, it will move up and down freely on the minute pinion. That's what the copper/brass washer is for on top of the hour wheel, to prevent vertical movement when the dial is mounted on the watch.
With the crown in time set position (3) the hour wheel teeth should be meshing with the teeth of the wheel to it's left, this is what is going to advance the date forward. In your pic it looks like the hour wheel is sitting slightly above the other wheel and the teeth aren't meshing correctly. Push it down in place gently, it may need a slight left/right wiggle to get the teeth to line up in both wheels.

Think I’ve done it, it just clicked in ever so lightly, now I feel more resistance when turning the crown whilst in the time setting position.
