IMG_0337.PNG Hey everyone

Bit of a geeky / nerd post for which I will apologise for in advance!!!

I was watching Daniel Craig being interviewed where he has finally confirmed that he will be returning for another bond movie

However I noticed that he was wearing the new omega seamaster commander bond watch

I'm not a fan of the actual watch face but the grey/ red / blue nato on the watch is pretty cool and if the colour scheme ever turns up on the usual eBay type places I would definitely buy it

Also I'm curious as to if just due to the fact it's a bond watch release will it be made into a replica ??

Anyway I've attached a photo of the man himself wearing the watch apologise for the quality

Nice catch. I always try to figure out what watches people are wearing in movies and tv. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes not so much.

You have better eyes then me. I can't tell it's an Omega, though I'm guessing it is. But glad to hear he is back for one more Bond, James Bond.

That was the best shot I could get , the only reason Is the nato strap is the new one from the commander Bond seamaster

And totally agree glad his coming back as bond

I'm sure there's a rep on the way. Actually, I think this one could've been good. If it had been just a simple variation on the Brosnan-era Seamaster (already pretty iconic), without all the Bond tie-in features. That kind of thing slightly embarrasses me. It's tacky and has no place on a fairly expensive luxury watch. If you're going to do it, keep it subtle - the Spectre Seamaster 300 was more subdued in its branding. Put it on the back, if you have to - make some nice Bond-theme packaging etc. Personally, I can't understand paying thousands for a watch that has James Bond and 007 all over it. Too reminiscent of a plastic battery-operated Batman-logo watch from out of a catalogue.

If it is the new Bond watch, well it is one I will not be collecting :( I just do not like it.

It won't be the new Bond watch. They'll come up with another one or two before then. I like Omega, but by God they sure are milking this deal.

They need him to push that piece of crap. Admittedly, it looks better in person but it should've never been made. The Spectre Bond editions were done right and I thought Omega was going in the right direction.

I feel the same way... it feels like a cheap attempt at a "Bond" by slapping on 007.

My local AD tried to defend it as much as he could. It's supposed to honor the fact that he is "Commander" Bond and his Royal Navy heritage. Except, I think a 60s Omega Seamaster would be much more fitting.

Maybe this would have been a great opportunity to reintroduce the electric blue wave dial? The white dial is really hurting the watch. I'd get rid of the 007 on the seconds hand as well. The 007 decorated movement and Commander engraving on the back is fine.

It's just too loud. Is the NATO its only strap? That should have been an extra. Maybe a nice blue sharksin strap if they really wanted some colour in there. As I said above, it could have been good. It just needs toning down. Seems a little... childish? And definitely no 007 hand!

It comes with a bracelet.

People always say 'Bond wouldn't have worn a watch with 007 on it'. Yet Roger Moore used loads of '007' branded gadgets in the movies - off the top of my head I remember a camera, and - most baffingly - a set of tarot cards! :-D But this REALLY DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT!!!

But Sir Roger was a comedian Bond. I always wished they had left out most of the comedy crap. I prefer the straight Bonds like Connery and even Brosnan.

Oh I know. The Moore Bonds, by and large, seemed like failed 'Carry On' movies. A shame, because in amongst all of them there were the occasional glimmers of greatness. But I favour a serious Bond too. I hope you don't think I was condoning the 007 branding...

It's a cheap looking gimmick. The second hand makes it look like a child's watch.
