Customs decides value!

wow,i ordered a TT navitimer as well as a ladies rolex masterpiece from Josh,very nice watches though that wrapping they use on the watches for me in 2 orders now, leaves dirt and film on the watches i have to spend an hour polishing off,but once cleaned up,very nice 8)

He sent me a leather band for my navitimer as well as a gold bracelet for my daydate i purchased before,(problems with the plating) for free included in this order.

Josh marked the value at $30US for the package (with all above),customs opened the package and not only did i still get it :shock: customs increased the value of the 4 items to $300CDN and i had to fork out $60CDN for duty and tax,no complaints about that as i'm glad they opened the package and they still arrived here.

It would make sense that they made a mistake and added a 0 to that $30,but with there being an exchange rate,that does not make sense,they simply increased the value but didn't seize the watches,good ol gov. of Canada,don't want to lose them tax dollars :lol:

Very happy with both watches from Josh,other than the cleaning,anyone else have this issue (dirty) with these reps?

You should be cleaning the watches anyway, they are always dirty from the factory. Make sure to oil the bracelets too.

yes though being TT bracelet,my cloth buffing to get the shit spots off it has caused scrathes on the gold,no i shouldn't have to expect to clean this crap off a $300 knock off,we are talking not about the $40 flea market rips,it should be tip top,but thats o.k

I had some brownish stuff on my TT bracelet. It rubbed right out with my cotton t-shirt.

It would suck worse if they determined they were the real thing and wanted the duty on GEN value.

Having stuff stopped and examined by Customs is part of mail order international. Everyone is subject to duty, taxes on imported goods in just about every country around the globe. If you don't get your package stopped, that is a bonus. But if it happens and they want their cut, that is part of the game.

..that's the reason I don't buy plated reps--or gens for that matter.
