Unlike Gen, these aren’t really made with meteorites? So what are they made of?They shouldn't look like that. Kind of hard to tell without macros, it's potato quality but from what I see I wouldn't accept 2/3 dials.
1st and 3rd one clearly have jagged edges/not well polished.
2nd one hard to say if it's light reflecting tbh.
IMHO It's not damage it's just poorly made and finished subdial and subdial rings reflecting light poorly.
The meteorite dial is produced seperate from subdial, after treating and finishing the dial they have to fit the subdial to the dial. If the subdials are not of high quality and poor tolerance then it's the result.
Just ask for a new one and say they're poorly finished. We have seen better made ones.
You also should probably ask for videos and more macros if you are worried. Hard to really tell anything. Videos and angles with light hitting subdial rings will reveal if it's damage/jagged or just some light tricking you.

Last piece of advice, these are only $300-400 dials. Just remeber that when buying them. I agree we have seen much better subdial finishing though.
They are from Popup. I thought he was good.
Not Popup, it's dial factory fault. Popup just a modder and sourcer of dials. That's like blaming a TD for something VSF did. They are from Popup. I thought he was good.

Try to narrow down which factory you want the dial from.
No bro, I meant you should narrow down which factory of meteorite you want. No name, SW, RB, Buff, etc, they're all different have different qualities, for ezample, the dial the user posted above looks like an SW to me due to the colorI asked him what factory the dial is from and he said no name
Which is usually the best? Sorry I am spending the money I want it to be right. No bro, I meant you should narrow down which factory of meteorite you want. Mostly all higher end rep space rock dials are made from real meteorite these days; However, not from the Gibeon meteorite.Unlike Gen, these aren’t really made with meteorites? So what are they made of?
And what’s the price point of the best one?
What’s so special about Gideon Meteorite? Is it whiter and shinier ?Mostly all higher end rep space rock dials are made from real meteorite these days; However, not from the Gibeon meteorite.
Sorry I completely missed that linked post. I prefer the lighter color of the buff dial. Any thoughts?Lol
Look at the post I linked you before called Met Gala and pick your choice. All have different color and advantages and disadvantages. I'm partial to SW and NNF (no name) but as you've seen quality control can be shoddy with NNF.

Those little ring frames that border the subdials are just cheap plated metal with 4 prongs on the bottom that fit into holes drilled into the subdial and through the backer plate. For them to look like they do in your OP, it appears they've been installed (temp set in place) and removed multiple times and suffered tool damage along the way. This would coincide with what Popup told you about the dials just being samples of meteorite patterns - you pick one and then the dial is finished with unflawed subdial + ring frame combos.
I have asked multiple times for the maker of the dials and videos and still am getting the run around. Is popup normally like this. Getting concerned. Those little ring frames that border the subdials are just cheap plated metal with 4 prongs on the bottom that fit into holes drilled into the subdial and through the backer plate. It's surprising this wasn't pre-announced to you. Maybe he assumed it would be obvious that no $400 dial would come with such flaws. I would clarify this with him very specifically and make sure you are still going to have a final veto on the completed dial if you feel the need. I can understand why dial makers would want to operate this way - not every dial ends up getting chosen and this saves them a lot of extra time effort and money on dials that don't sell.
Not every Daytona dial has these subdial frames, especially custom dials. I modded a Daytona meteorite dial and despite narrowing that frame width by about half, I was still not able to use it with the modded subdials. The frame still covered part of the numbers and tic marks.
Here you can see some pics of a disassembled meteorite dial.

This is the little subdial ring frame as I was thinning it. So far only the prongs had been sanded off.

I just did without the skinny frames, the numbers and tic marks were actually on a wider black frame.

I've not dealt with him. Communication can be a little difficult sometimes with distance, and language and cultural differences.I have asked multiple times for the maker of the dials and videos and still am getting the run around. Is popup normally like this. Getting concerned.
