Crystal replacement help

I've been looking for a good guide on how to swap the crystal on my CrPO but have been unable to find one. Does anyone know of one and can direct me?

Also, should I even bother or just take it to a local mom and pop?

I don't. I've seen the cheap ones going for sub-$20 on the bay. Wasn't sure if I should go for them or not.

Have you removed a movement before? Because you will have to in order to remove the crystal. Not a Po but you may get some tips. Good luck!

hummm, that is quite a bit more equipment than i have.

I think that it is pretty easy if you have the tools. That being said, I am not the most mechanically inclined person so I opted to send it to a watchsmith. Which crystal are you going to install?

I picked up a crystal press from a local shop. Do I need to glue it in as it suggests in the post the flyr linked. If so, should I remove the bezel when doing so?

When you pop the olkd crystal out, I suspect there will be a nylon gasket. You can reuse that.

Put the gasket in the case, position the new crystal as close to flat in/on the gasket and gently use the press to push the crystal in.

I just did this for the first time tonight and it was much easier than I had imagined.

No need for glue,friction is your friend!

Should I use a little gasket grease on the crystal gasket? Or dry?
