Crown fell off when setting time

So I just received my Mark XVII from Ryan at InTime, and the crown fell off when setting the time. It comes off when setting the time and spinning the crown counter-clockwise. I can reinstall the crown by spinning it clockwise. Spinning it clockwise does allow me to set the time, but the hands are spinning backwards which makes it not possible to spin them until the date clicks over, so I can then rotate the date as to not be changing it when it's close to midnight. Any ideas on why the crown is coming off and how to fix it?

It just needs some loctite.

It probably wasnt tightened properly when the watch was assembled.

As my Bro above mentioned a tiny dab of loctite inside the crown threads will probably work.

assemble the crown with the loctite, as soon as the hands start spinning, stop.
let the watch sit for a day to let the loctite dry.
Then give it another try

Thanks a lot for the input. I will try a tiny bit of loctite and see how it works.

Remove the stem, and THEN use some 222 loctite on its thred, then ensure you screw the crown onto the stem square, and not lopsided otherwise you will not only damage the thread in the crown clutch, you won't be able to screw down the crown so its profile is right. If its not a screw down crown, same thing, you will loose water resistance.

Thanks SSTEEL. I haven't put loctite on it yet, but I just noticed that when I manually wind the watch, I hear and feel a single "click" with each full clockwise rotation of the crown. Any idea what this could be and if it's bad?

Thanks everyone.

Any idea what the click that occurs with each full rotation of the crown when winding could be?

If the mainspring is fully wound, it's the spring slipping on the barrel like is should. That's why you can't over wind an automatic movement.

If it's not fully wound, I don't know what it could be.

Don't try to fix it yourself unless you know wht you are doing, it is a very simple task but you need to know how to remove the stem with no side effects on the keyless work.

I have the gen and the crown does loosen at times (but never falling off). What I do is to push it all the way in and then keep turning clockwise for a while. Next pull crown out twice and reset the time. It should work then. Hopefully. ;)

So I sent my Mark XVII to Vac to get the crown fixed as well as for lume, waterproof and a full movement service. He told me that the crown is defective and that I need to find a new one before he can finish his work. Does anyone know if a genuine crown will fit the rep stem? If not, where can I possibly find another rep crown? Think any of the forum members might have one? Thanks everyone.

The IWC 30110, which is in fact an ETA 2892-A2. So in case of the rep an A2892.

Did he crosspost this thread? I answered to IWC subforum and here it is correct. Has nothing to do with only 7750.
