when I was purchasing T-shirts from emp-online I was also asked for CC and ID card copy and everything went well, but I knew that was a trusted site, watcheden.com is new to me, thats's why I'm concerned!Cloudhopper said:To compare the name on the card and on the ID. Been through this twice with online shops from the US. Cover the middle digits of the CC and cover everything on the ID that you don't want them to have (like issue number, Social Security number etc, just leave the important stuff like name and date of birth visible).
Pix said:Here we go again : sending a copy of your CC and ID card IS NOT A NORMAL STEP, even if you go from the principle that W.E. is honest.
They don't need that : the 3 digits on the backside of your card are the proof you have the card in your hands physically, and not using a stolen number.
Leave it, buy elsewhere, and let W.E. settle their payment problems. I don't know any other dealer asking these things.
Some other members already did the same, their payment eventually was accepted.
BUT... what will happen in a few monthes when your credit card with all personal datas will be available on internet for a few bucks ?
STOP being naive, please (nothing against you Jakov). Why do other dealers accept Paypal or have not the same problems with CC ??
Ask yourself.
BTW, do you want Rolex2U to appear on your bankstatements ? So you can be sure your bank will let you down the day you will fill in a claim after illegal use of your credit card.
OMG... Think, please, think !
Than, which shop should I do to? Everyone is saying great things about watcheden.com is there any other trusted site, and which oone is it? What to do with the money that is already transfered to watcheden.com?R2D4 said:Gents this is "not" normal, don't do it. Shop elsewhere. The only time I have ever considered doing this was for recurring authorizations for business purposes and the information was totally secure but I declined. If online shops are starting to require this, then I won't shop online, period.
OK, I'm waiting for your response and WE's explanation! [smilie=clock.gif]seanf said:To reiterate what R2D4 said-- DON'T DO THIS. We've contacted Watcheden about this. This is NOT something that we, as the RWI admin team, are comfortable with at all. As soon as we hear from Tony or Sarah, we'll post their response here.
