2) Franken DJ 16233 - $650 + shipping
Out of all the watches I’ve owned through the years, this is the one that has garnered the most attention. It’s the perfect amount of flashy. The gold filled raffles bracelet, gen dial and date window, and smooth winding and operating movement made it a joy to own. Had I not decided to splurge on another watch, this one would remain with me. Really great job on the build by @Dxp200 – highly recommend his work. 3) GF Cartier Santos XL - $400 + shipping
If you have not had the pleasure of owning one of these watches, let this be your opportunity to correct that mistake. The white/silvered dial is striking and the toolless quick-change and bracelet sizing mechanism is so, so nice. I’ll likely own a gen at some point in the future when I make another terrible financial decision, but I shouldn’t really because GF did a great job on this. 4) VSF Panerai PAM683 w/ Prof Crystal - $550 + shipping
Upon receiving this, I flipped it over to Prof for his double AR coating service (invoice pic below). Anyone who has ever owned a rep Submersible knows that VSF does a great job except for the crystal, which features the dreaded “fish-eye” effect from the factory. Once that is corrected with the AR coating, the watch is top notch. Unlike the modern versions of the Submersibles from Panerai (which took a massive step back in terms of movement quality—google perezcope p.9010 movement if you’re interested), this version maintains the jump hour complication when setting time, which is the next best thing to (and for some, better than) a GMT complication.
